Me and my partner went here for dinner. We had booked the ?Dinton signature menu? recommended by a staff member! And my word what a recommendation! this is only available as a speciality menu on Thursdays-Saturdays.
I?d like to say first of all the location is lovely. It?s such gorgeous pub where we sat in the garden was a stunning view, watching the sunset while having a nice drink is something so wonderfully special. The area is so lovely and peaceful!
Now the food, my partner ate his in record time! He said it was exceptional! I?d like to tell you how nice his was but I blinked and he had finished it! I had the crab arancini and it was incredibly delicious!
I?m very lucky to have visited Italy many times and the arancini I had here is as good, if not better than anything I have had out there! They need more of it on the menu!!!
I also had their red onion tart and it was everything I wanted and more! Honestly one of the best foods I?ve ever eaten, likewise my partner got the duo of duck and he also had the same reaction. We were just so impressed by the standard of food on offer.
I would highly recommend this pub not just for food but for drinks as well!
I look forward to my next visit.

We came for the garden signature menu it was exceptional. I had the pork belly to start and the duo of duck as a main. My partner had crab arancini and the red onion tart!
Both were exceptional! It says the pub is closed on google but I promise you it isn?t! And it?s worth a visit!
Wonderful experience! Will be back!

I can't rate the rooms or food, but watch this space, we will be back. Friendly staff, very clean and 2 lovely terraces. Dining room and bar area, lovely. UPDATE Aug 25, 8 of us went for Sunday dinner and had various, burgers, fish and chips but mostly roasts. Roast potatoes tasted like they had been cooked around the meat, beautiful. Presentation was lovely, we asked for extra gravy and cauliflower cheese. GRAVY MUST TAKE STAR POSITION, first class. Service was a little slower than I liked, but I guess it was difficult with so many different items chosen. Puds, lovely and everyone praised the ice cream. Thanks everyone

Stayed 2 nights. Had dinner at the hotel the first night. Very slow service despite not lots of people eating. Had to wait 1 hour for main courses.
The waitress at breakfast always looked miserable both mornings and everything felt like it was too much trouble for her. Great hotel, poor service

We were looked after by Andrew who was the perfect host, nothing too much trouble , attentive without being over bearing, all in all a fantastic dining experience, fabulous food, wonderful gardens, and again Andrew is top level, highly recommended

I recently booked 5 rooms at the Hermit as my family were in town from Ireland for an event. All who stayed there all had a magnificent time. The rooms were stunning, the beds very comfortable, the setting is picturesque and tranquil and the food and drink was superb.
Dan and the team went out of their way to make all of my guests feel so very welcome and they would love to return in the future.

Very disappointed. Meat was pre cooked thinly (very) and not much of it. No crackling. Great roast potatoes but won?t go back. I had a restaurant so I know what to expect .

Tiny room and bathroom. The owners have tried to squeeze in rooms within the old stables, but it hasn't worked. Breakfast was average. Service was average.

An amazing lunch. Food was out of this world. Setting was lovely, overlooking countryside and home grown veg gardens. Superb choice of foods, beers and ciders, will certainly be visiting again. Little ?
