Had a lovely lunch taking our mother out, food great as usual. Great staff especially the young lady I bumped into walking to the stairs pretty, dark hair, lovely smile, both said sorry! Lucky to have beautiful people working at your restaurant. Thank you.

I have had several family meals here previously but we specifically for the previously good vegetarian burger to be presented with a not very nice buttermilk plant based escalope that was more like a chicken fillet. Very disappointing. We won?t be back. Need to find somewhere else now.

Visited the polecat inn this afternoon with my mates , we got starters main dessert the hole lot payed 190 for a 171 bill to only get 5.20 change tried to ask for it back but then got told we aren?t the right clientele and no one wants to serve us because where 16 and in tracksuits, discusting customer service I normal go there for a big family meals and don?t say anything about how anyone?s dressed but they see 4 teenagers and think they can take the piss

Stumbled by accident, but I was delighted to enter a very quaint old what would?ve been called and in back in the day they have an amazing bar area that is a stepping time - low ceilings, old wood old fireplaces and so much character
The best thing about this place is the fact that they serve ASahi on draft - I was happy
The service was attentive. It wasn?t a busy time during my visit, but staff were pleasant professional and courteous.
The place comes highly recommended for cocktails or Asahi beer ?
They have a huge extended restaurant area which I didn?t eat in, so I can?t comment on that
Warm and friendly bar area !

Love the outdoor dining pods, but inside there is the modern, or the part of the building with history which was retained from the renovation. Good food, nice options too for smoothies and mocktails, as well as coffee or hot chocolate. Great pizzas too.
Parking: Nice big car park with additional parking.

Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options available and the Lebanese fries are to die for!!

This was probably once a little local pub with everything that brings, good and bad, but it has had a huge modern extension built and it is now a trendy restaurant. It's family friendly with lots of outdoor seating and lots of choice on the menu, and it's not silly prices. The staff are well trained, the kitchen is visible, clean and professional... This is the restaurant you are looking for, if you are anywhere in the area then make the extra effort to get there, it's like the kind of restaurant you'd expect in a pretty city like St Albans or Oxford, but it's in the middle of the Chilterns which is typically a bit of a desert for well designed spaces selling appealing food. Recommended.

Went for family meal, 8 covers. Food was excellent, good size portions and great quality. Something for everyone. Service was prompt, always checking up if needed anything without being intrusive or an annoyance, an art in itself. Wait for food was no longer than you would expect, arrived hot. Will be using more often as local.
Add in great outside eating/drinking area and large garden & car park so family friendly too.

I came here on a Sunday with two friends for some dinner and drinks. The cocktails were really good quality and it?s hard to find this nowadays so I was most pleased with this. I am vegetarian and had 2 starters as I felt there could have been more vegetarian main options, because the day I went, pizzas were unavailable so I didn?t have much option for mains. My starters were nice however. The atmosphere and scenery at this pub is really lovely. For context, we spent approx £50 per person so a little more than the local pub however still a nice place to go to for a change and I would go again. It is particularly nice in the Summer as there is an outdoor seating area.
Vegetarian options: There are a few vegetarian options for starters but not many for mains

First and foremost, the service we received was excellent. I am writing this review based on my meal, not of those I dined with. I ordered a napolitana pizza (capers, olives and anchovies) and it was very disappointing. 2 tiny slivers of anchovy, tasteless black olives and a few capers! Definitely not worth the £15 price tag. Hopefully next time I'll make a better choice....

Ordered a fish and chips and bread, the bread didn't come as the waitress forgot. The fish was either old oil or over cooked. I did mention it after I paid for feedback as I was wrestling with a newborn during the meal. Didn't feel like the feedback was taken on board. Table next to me had a lot of the bill as it was bad or not arrived. Been a few times I won't again.
