Just got from trying the Sunday carvery. Look forward to going again. From what we saw best to book. Being dog friendly is a big plus for us.

Welcoming host on arrival and had a reservation, although not too busy. Ordered the burger and also fish and chips. The burger was hot and very tasty including the chips. Tried the fish, what a great taste, batter was crispy and could tell the fish was super fresh. Also had the jam roly-poly and custard, could have had seconds as it was that good. Yep we will be visiting again.

Stopped here for lunch as it is just a couple of minutes from the motorway and certainly a million times nicer than the services, 200x cheaper and helping out a local business. Food was delicious and the landlord was very friendly. As it was quiet our dog and the pub dog got to make friends. If you need a stop over consider here rather than a McDonald's.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available

We booked for lunch for six on a Sunday afternoon. When we booked we were warned that we're not doing the roast dinners and so only had a limited bar snacks style menu. This was fine, the menu was limited but we had been warned. Service was friendly and prompt. Ham egg and chips, scampi and chips, horseshoe burger, beef chili nachos and a jacket potato were all good. The vegetarian options were very limited.
