Gello and his amazing team hosted us for a private party. It was amazing, the food was exceptional, service outstanding and arranging in was a delight.

A very relaxing friendly place with lovely staff. I ordered The Tavern Breakfast and it beautifully presented and very tasty. This place has a good selection of what seems to be cooked on the premises. Definitely worth a visit even if for a cuppa outside on the chairs provided.

I?ve had food here 4 times now and it?s delicious! They make really good coffee as well. I love that we can eat outside as well, it?s been lovely in the past few weeks in the sun. The food is excellent value for money and the atmosphere is very nice.

honestly we just had one of the most delicious dinners on record. thank you Gelo and team for utterly yummy prawn starter and cod with mussels and a hint of curry. honestly you can't get better food anywhere.

We visited on 1/1 in the evening, having eaten excellent Breakfasts at The Tavern many times.
Ordered the Fish Pie special, only to be told Specials not available in the evenings - not made clear!
My partner who is veggie ordered the ONLY veggie main course on the menu (Risotto) - only to be told « Sorry, we?ve run out »
Not good enough, I?m afraid! So we left and went elsewhere.
You need more than one veggie main course choice!
We will not go there in the evening again.

Absolutely fantastic Polish evening Fri 04 Oct 24 I tried as many dishes as I could manage and all the fabulous fusions of tastes. The service as ever was brilliant. Thank you The Tavern for making me welcome.

Nice food but lack of it unfortunately. I had a muffin with bacon and sausage and fried egg which turned up with one slice of bacon and one sausage and two fried eggs ????

Went this morning after returning from a cruise yesterday (and didn't want to cook). Eggs benedict was perfect. The staff are fabulous. Really is a little gem of a place

Really lovely atmosphere, nice selection of food and drinks! Staff were friendly and approachable! Halloumi wrap was delicious just a shame it came with regular chips instead of sweet potato fries like the menu mentioned (Especially as it was £15)!
Vegetarian options: Veggie options are generally just the normal item with the meat removed, without a substitute (e.g. the veggie full English/the tavern veggie - just the regular full English without sausage, bacon and black pudding, but remains at near identical pricing, just £1 cheaper)

I really wanted to like this place! It looks nice inside and out and I was excited to see what it was all about. I was met by 3 young ladies just staring at me when I walked in and I asked did they need to seat me or should I seat myself? One ushered me to a corner where there were no menus and no real instruction if they would come over and take my order or if I should go up to the counter. After waiting 5 mins I got up to go to the counter and one girl said she?d come take my order. I ordered an americano and got charged for a cappuccino either though there?s a price difference on their menu? Wasn?t given a napkin or offered sugar or spoon. The place was DEAD I was their only customer so it?s not like they were run off their feet busy. Instead one of their friends came in and they all stood chatting away.
I?ve worked in the service industry at a young age too so I know what it?s like but this was just rubbish.
