Brought my mum for her Birthday and we had the Afternoon Tea. It was so lovely.
The staff were helpful and friendly, the service was great. The food was scrumptious too.
We love the decor at the Lytton, peaceful and beautifully designed. Lots of sumptuous soft furnishings which really helps with noise levels.
We walked around the beautifully landscaped gardens afterwards.

When we first visited the Lytton Restaurant it was sparkling clean, with fresh decor, a buzzy atmosphere, and great food.
What happened?
The venue and bar areas are tired and in need of a refresh - new paint, furniture, and new decor required - with a much needed uplift to offer a younger vibe.
Music, when played, works well!
The bar and restaurant, after all, are intended to welcome non-resident visitors and Audley Club members.
It does have more of a care home feel at the moment, with the bar area in particular housing an underwhelming assortment of tired-looking furniture.
We miss the smart and enticing venue it used to be, especially when compared to other Audley Villages such as the stunning setting of the one at Leamington Spa.
I am disappointed that on two occasions I had booked lunch, only to find on arrival that it was pizza, garlic bread, and chips only. No alternative menu, and very little in the way of side salads.
Afternoon Tea is prepared in the mornings - hence the pre-order - so the offering is underwhelming and dry.
The Restaurant and Bar Staff are young, friendly, and interested in progressing their roles.
The Spa and Gym staff manage the Spa and Gym facilities for members and visitors brilliantly: the Therapists and Gym manager are superb - it?s the pool changing rooms and pool area that are not clean and very tired.
The poolside loungers are filthy and there is no space is available for post-treatment relaxation.
This area could accommodate 4 relaxation pods to easily overcome this!
All these comments have been fed back to Head Office, but no response or changes have been made to date.
. . . I do hope things upgrade as soon as possible to reach the high standards Audley Dene deserves for all!

Took my wife and little daughter to the restaurant for the lunch. It was lovely atmosphere, food was great and service was excellent. Will go again next time. Beautiful place and will be more beautiful in summer.

The Lytton is in a very strange location, slap bang in the middle of a retirement village.
The restaurant is very stylish with tastefully panelled walls, decorated in modern grey and beige.
We were here for an afternoon tea, sandwiches cakes and cream stones with earl grey tea and a couple of glasses of prosseco.
I must admit this wasn't the best afternoon tea I've ever, but it was up there.
The service was excellent and very attentive, the prosecco was fresh and fruity good quality.
Would recomend the free flowing option.
Will definitely eat here again now we have found it.

My friend and I took her sister for an Afternoon Tea at Lytton Dene this afternoon. The pictures shown on Facebook are very different to the presentation we received - that was the first disappointment considering this was a birthday present to her. The greeting from the young waiter was less than impressive and we were vaguely shown to our table. We were not asked about preferences or allergies (of which I actually have!). To be fair, the food was very tasty, especially the sandwiches- my favourite! I kindly asked if it would be possible to have a little more sandwiches and was told (without hesitation) no! We have been to various establishments for afternoon tea and this is normally offered. We had to ask to have more coffee and tea and actually had to ask again to get it.Sorry Lytton Dene, you really disappointed us and as a result, cannot recommend you to my friends and family - that upsets me. Please try to be more attentive to your customers and maybe pander to their whims a bit more. That said, the smaller waiter with glasses provided a much more professional and friend service and actually gave us a few more biscuits as we had to wait so long for our drinks refills. We witnessed other guests receiving a much better service. I normally give 5* reviews.

My friend and I visited The Lytton at Chalfont Dene today for an afternoon tea and I had to write a review as soon as we had gotten back as the whole experience was beyond amazing, truly such a find! Firstly the staff here are wonderful, super attentive, friendly and helpful, checking in on us regularly to make sure we were okay, but not rushing us, allowing us to spend as long as we liked, (we are known to spend hours enjoying afternoon tea!) providing regular tea top ups when needed. And the afternoon tea fare itself was absolutely delicious! The bread super soft & the fillings well seasoned on the sandwiches, we inhaled them in record time. And the cakes and scones were scrumptious. We had the loveliest time here and highly recommend to others, we already can't wait to come back!

Lovely afternoon tea with family. Plenty of space and access for wheelchairs. Staff were friendly and helpful.Parking: Bit hard to find visitor parking. There's some right at the entrance to the estate and a few outside the restaurant building but quickly filled and mostly resident parking. The restaurant is in the main building in the centre of the estate but not well signposted.Wheelchair accessibility: Really good wheelchair access, all on the flat, disabled toilets, plenty of space around tables. Staff were really helpful

Always quite variable here. Pretty poor this meal, should have known not to have the Xmas meal at my age! Just sprouts for vegetables and very thick slices of turkey. Steak was ok, I think I?ve had that before and was ok. Chocolate mousse - runny, didn?t eat it. Service is good and of course convenient for visiting elderly relatives.

Visited in early November 2023 to make a booking for an Annual Dinner for a party of 40 in January 2023. Very pleasantly received by restaurant manager, assured this would all be fine, and advised Menu with prices and parking plan would be emailed over following our visit. The parking plan was important as parking for the restaurant needs to be on site, and with 40 guests we could be requiring 20 places. Neither a Menu nor a parking plan had materialised as of 5th December 2023, despite two phone calls and four emails to chase it up. In a telephone call on 23rd November 2023 we were assured the date was OK, and the details were coming that day or the next. In frustration I spoke directly with the General Manager on 5th December 2023, who indicated it would be difficult to accommodate a party of 40 in the restaurant, and confirmed that in any case the date we thought we had booked was not available as the Village had an owner event taking place. It was further stated that they could not accommodate the number of cars our party would have generated. The booking management of this restaurant requires review. This Review relates to a failed booking and not to a meal in the restaurant.

We went to The Lytton for Sunday lunch and whilst the food was lovely and the restaurant was very nice with good service I think the website should make it clearer that it?s located in a retirement village! We were the only table without an elderly (I assume resident) with us so we did feel very out of place and a little uncomfortable. Aside from that we had a lovely time. Just wish we hadn?t been surprised by the location on arrival!

We took my mother for afternoon tea to celebrate her 94th birthday. Lovely setting, easily accessible, though not easy to find the restaurant. We were met (not greeted) by staff who asked us which table we wanted then what drinks we wanted before we even sat down. There was no menu, no description of the food we were to expect or choice of teas - he just seemed to want to get the food on the table and leave us to it. We were the only table in the restaurant and there was obviously a function in in the evening so we were surrounded by huddles of staff who ignored us but proceeded to move tables, lay out and prepare for the night and repeatedly walk back and for on the phone - we felt an inconvenience. Fortunately the first staff member serving us was replaced by a second who was a little more personable but, despite my telling them on booking that this was a special birthday celebration, not one person said anything to my mother in the way of congratulations. Even more disappointing as this place must surely be used to dealing with older people - which is partly why I chose it. The food was ok - reasonable sandwiches, good warm scones and a cake selection. I didn?t like that each person was served just half of a very small bun rather than a whole - it just felt penny pinching. Maybe they had simply run out as it wasn?t the freshest of the cakes. I wouldn?t return as sadly there was no sense of occasion and it all felt rather amateur, awkward and average.

Parking: I find it difficult to park near the restaurant when coming for lunch

Beautiful wheelchair accessible setting looking out over the grounds with water feature. We had Afternoon Tea and found the quantity just right for us, fresh sandwiches, warmed scones and delicious little cakes. Nut & seed allergy also accommodated with no issues.
