This is a lovely, small building society. Its nice to walk into a quiet place and know the faces you are talking to. It's usually a pleasant experience.I have to say unfortunately it was a different experience on Saturday 3rd June. When i politely asked to put some money into my savings account the lady (who i hadn't seen before) looked at the money and asked with suspicion "where did you get this money from?" To me it was an odd question because It's an amount regularly put into my account.In terms of it being a security measure...i would be surprised if an actual criminal would reveal anything to this sort of question.Initially i was a bit annoyed by the experience because i take pride in being a good person etc. Being a longterm customer you hope the reward is something different to having your character questioned when entering the door.

Time wasters! Avoid them at all costs!Applied, AIP was offered. Looked for a house that didn't use up all the loan given to me in the AIP. Returned with the offer! Paid the evaluation fee! And then they returned with a mortgage offer that was even less than the initial AIP!( Remember I didn't use up all the loan offered in the AIP)Their justification: expenses will go up with no regard to income growth and the times in which we were living in ( COVID)Take my advice; Don't say i didn't warn you!

I've had a regular savers account at the Bucks for 3 years and the rates have been superb, even during the pandemic the rates have stayed higher than its competitors. When I go into the branch the customer service team are phenomenal and answer any questions I have.

I've had the most horrendous experience with this bank getting a mortgage. It's take over 5 months, each step takes at least 1 month, even signing basic paperwork. So unprofessional. The valuation company they work with made mistake costing me thousands of pounds. I would avoid this bank at ALL costs! Look somewhere more reliable. No accountability or help at all.
