I used to love the food in the restaurant, but I've been there twice in the last month and the standard has definitely dropped. The fish fingers sandwich, the fish fingers were really dry. With the avocado on toast, it was some sort of avocado mush, not a fresh avocado. The toast was also soggy from water on the poached eggs. I don't know if they have changed chefs, but it's a shame the food isn't as good as it was.

We have been regular customers for 30 odd years but still enjoy the special range of goods, the helpful staff and value for money. David Smith took a lot of trouble giving us advice on a range of scrubs - excellent customer service. My best ot Steve and staff for the future.

Excruciatingly expensive but I love the fact they support local companies to their area. House plants inside looked healthy and well looked after and I loved their little crafts section.I loved the ginger biscuits and really enjoyed the Pork and Stilton sausage roll. Even made a special trip from Wales to get more but alas I missed the opening hours.

The garden centre itself is lovely with great service and products and plants. The cafe is a different story. Poor service. Most of the staff talk to one another instead of serving and when you finally get served you?re met with attitude. I had chronic heartburn after eating their chips. Coated in layers of oil like they have been dipping them back in the oil every ten minutes to keep warm. Baguette was nothing special. Very basic bread and ingredients. Side salad looked days old. Luke warm. Shame really as their groceries and food section in the garden centre has quality produce.

First visit for drinks and cake as we arrived around 3pm and the kitchen was closed. Were shown to a table.Lots of staff but it took a while to place an order, then equally to pay for our items. Drinks were fine, tea cakes weren?t hot. £20 a bit steep for what we had and the poor service

Please bring back the old fresh cakes you used to sell . The new style of selling in the plastic boxes are not good to the environment , taste horrible, too sweet and sticky. Please bring back the old cakes ! Other than that I like the garden centre so I have given three starts but less too starts for the cheap and cheerful cakes.

We really enjoyed our high tea here. I think it was £39 for two people which seems very reasonable compared to others I've had with smaller quantities at a higher price. There's a nice selection of sweet and savory items. I found the individual portions of clotted cream and jam delightful as they were also quality brands. What really took me by surprise was the unlimited drinks that it comes with. My mocha was large to begin with but when we discovered we could order as many teas or espresso drinks we could handle we couldn't believe it. I could only fit in two but considering most places only allow one order of such a drink and top up water only this was such a bonus. The setting was quite lovely, if you can get a window seat even better, but there's a few trees and things scattered throughout the space. They also have breakfast and lunch menus which looked quite substantial and a dedicated kids menu which is always welcomed. The staff were very friendly too. If you do want to do high tea, they require at least 24 hrs notice, however you may get lucky if you're trying to get in last minute.
