Popped in for a light lunch today with a friend, as ever the service was excellent, the atmosphere was warm and friendly and the food was really delicious. We had Wild Mushrooms with tarragon & spinach on sourdough, courgette & pea soup and Parmesan fries - all were excellent and thoroughly enjoyed! We have stayed here for a wedding recently and the rooms, service and food were all fabulous. What a fabulous local asset this place is, thank you ?

Will never eat here again. Spent over 100 on food and received a parking ticket for parking in their car park! You drive through an arch and park in a car park that is obviously for that park, so you wouldn?t think to do anything else. There was no visible signage saying I had to register and no one mentioned anything inside the restaurant.

Lovely staff at the restaurant set on this quaint village. Excellent quality of food and big variety in the menu. Highly recommended!

A very convenient pub for walking in the Chilterns. We visited on Sunday for Sunday roasts after a walk, and had 3 roasts (chicken, pork, and beef), with drinks. The roasts were good (& large), with a big jig of gravy to share. We had originally booked in the dining room, but ended up eating in the main bar. It's perfectly fine for eating in, and for us more atmospheric than their dedicated dining room.Anyway - nice pub, friendly staff, good roasts!

This is the fifth time we have stayed at the Red Lion Wendover. The accommodation and bar are very good and the staff are always friendly and helpful. However the Restaurant does not meet expectations. The menu reads well but what you are served is a different matter. The first evening we ordered plaice but it was not available so we settled for salmon which was ok. The second evening we ordered Venison (£27.50 per head) We were served a 2 inch square piece of venison, half a small baked potato and three cauliflower florets. What a rip off.We will not be staying again.

Really nice pub hotel with some charming, quirky rooms and some nice touches to make you feel very comfortable. Really nice place to stop off.Breakfast was a little disappointing but I think they were a bit busy? Not sure but overall I enjoyed my stay here.Rooms: Very nice touches in the room to make you feel at home. The complimentary sloe gin was excellent. Bathroom was very clean and luxurious.

Wonderful memories from being a baby, to now being 60! Always has been and always will be the best place ever. Whether staying over, popping in for a drink, or having your Sunday roast, always just perfect!A good mixture of continued 'Olde World' charm and some modernisation. Simply the best!

This bar, restaurant, hotel cannot be undersold. From the friendly welcoming staff, to the clean yet rustic feel. You can see that this venue has been refurbished recently, and the current owners must really care about their standards.I was instantly impressed when parked up, and saw the outside seating and rear entrance. Even on a rainy day, it looked nice.Walking in I was greeted with smiles and they went out of their way to get my room sorted despite me being 3 hours early. The room was clean, and smelled amazing.. Great modern style bathroom, loads of light and a great view of the main street. The food, both breakfast and lunch (pictured) was outstanding. I highly recommend the fish finger sandwich.. sold to me as a light lunch, I couldn't finish it all. Beautiful.I was travelling here for a friend's funeral. On a very sad and rainy day, the Red Lion accommodated, and raised the mood of all. An excellent location I'll definitely look to visit again. Hopefully next time for a nicer reason.Thank you to all the staff at the Red Lion.

Really liked this place. Was down at RAF Halton on a course and popped in here on both nights. There was a brilliant Beer garden tucked round the back and on each visit it was busy, even on a Tuesday and Wednesday. Birra Moretti on tap was an added bonus. For me, probably the best pub we ventured into during our stay near Wendover.

We stayed here for one night as part of our walking weekend. The rooms are very well appointed; very good quality and super comfortable beds. Our evening meal was fabulous and breakfast delicious too. Attention to detail is exceptional and we all enjoyed our stay very much.

I stayed for 1 night in a petit double room across a courtyard. The room was very comfortable with everything I needed. It had a super bathroom with a fantastic shower. It had an ironing board iron and hairdryer and was very tastefully decorated. In the morning I had a very substantial cooked breakfast All in all a lovely stay in the lovely village of Wendover

This is a long overdue review - we stayed for two nights last year having chosen it because it is close to Aylesbury and we had tickets to a concert in the Aylesbury theatre. It was such a great surprise to find such nice accommodation in addition to the proximity to Aylesbury. Our room was clean and spacious and we spent a lovely afternoon sitting out on the terrace under the awning out of the rain, enjoying a glass of wine. We taxied to the concert and the staff helped us book that and the return, and it worked perfectly and then we had another drink in the pub itself. Breakfast was really good and the staff was helpful. The only snag was that one evening the bar was very busy and very loud - but it is hard to fault a place for being popular. Parking was great, which is very helpful. All and all it was a great stay and all the better for being more than we had expected when we choose it purely for location!
