One of the most unpleasant train station shops I've ever had the misfortune to visit. Unfortunately it appears to be the main retail offering at Temple Meads.Feels more rundown and poorly run than the average WHSmith.Want an alcoholic drink? The cabinets are locked, the staff woefully slow and the prices painfully ridiculous.Makes Birmingham New Street feel like paradise in comparison.

Drinks are cheaper in the vending machine inside the station

Absolutely disgusting you are charging 1.50 for a SINGLE PACK OF TISSUES. You should be ashamed.

I wasn't impressed with the WH Smith in Bristol Temple Meads train station as we wanted to have a meal deal but there wasn't much to choose from, and in fact, a lot of the shelves were empty which meant we couldn't complete our purchase, instead, we had to go with a protein bar to keep us going for the four-hour journey. I know WHSmith isn't known for their good value things but I just felt the prices were overflated and I don't think I'd be returning any time soon if this is how WHSmith will be from here on out. It's also mostly self-checkouts which is cash only this worked fine for us and we were able to get on by without any staff but it'd be nice to know exactly where they were since the replenishing stock wasn't on their to-do list!

Rudest staff ever. Didn't even look at us or stop his conversation with his colleague/friend during the entire transaction. Even had to prompt him to process the payment so that I could tap my card. Very poor. Not cool.

This used to be quite a handy little shop.Unfortunately since the random M&S takeover the prices have shot through the roof, a sandwich drink crisps and a chocolate bar £8!Advertise meal deal everywhere (even that?s £4.99) and a good 60% of items aren?t in the deal. It?s cheaper to use the McColls outside the station.

WHSmith isn't exactly known for its value products, but this shop specifically has some of the most inflated prices I have ever seen. This shop only exists to profit from people who are in the station and have no other option; they know this and take full advantage. A small array of meal "deals" that are often displayed in a way that implies they are part of some multi-purchase when they are in fact not. It is useful for small convenients such as gum or coffee but only if you are happy to be extorted. The customer service was very good and honestly I felt sorry for the staff there who often get berated by people for the prices of everything. When I purchased a coffee from the shop I was made the wrong drink, but it was replaced for me so I cannot find fault with that. If you value not being ripped off I highly suggest using the Sainsbury's on Avon Street around the corner (500m approx), it will be cheaper and have a wider array of products; unless you need stationary on your train journey.

Only about 20% of their sandwiches on display are actually included in the meal deal, yet the signage and labelling is designed to make you think otherwise. It?s the same with snacks which, conveniently, are nowhere near the fridges. An already overpriced meal deal will cost actually cost you £8+
