“There is a sign outside saying "You would not believe this is a charity shop", it is well laid out, very smart with beautiful clothes, many of which are new I believe (but oh so cheap). The staff are friendly and helpful, I visit regularly and often come back with a real bargain. Lovely large changing room too.”

“Brilliant shop. Excellent selection of books always of superb quality. Of specific praise is the DVD section, the stock they get in is so good, Curzon, criterion, rare old foreign films, BFI releases- just excellent.”

“The best Charity Shop in Henleaze with really helpful and friendly staff, and always good quality items on offer. Prices are really good compared to other Charity Shops on this road. A special mention to the Manager as she will always go above and beyond to assist her Customers.”

“Lovely shop, and unlike other nearby Barnardo shops, is open on Sundays and has a really decent sized selection of clothes. It's run very professionally, always has good displays and the staff go to some lengths to theme the shop during the year's festivities (Halloween, Christmas etc). It always feels clean and well laid out (no fusty tatt!). Prices are reasonable mostly, sometimes a bit steep but hey, it's for charity! They aren't as cheap as the filton shop prices, but the quality of clothing is a better grade generally speaking.”

“This is my local and most favourite charity shop! Lovely staff, fantastic finds - particularly good for second hand clothing and boots/shoes. Has a great selection of new gifts from Cancer Research too, and also really good greeting cards”

“These guys are absolute mavericks! At least, that is, in the world of charity shopping. They've only gone and put the accessories (the old crockery and such like) at the front of the shop right as you walk in. If that wasn't off-the-hook enough they've constructed a sort of front-to-back rail for all their clothes thus converting the whole shop into two mega aisles. It's harder perhaps to find the bargains you want this way but it's much more fun, and very different. The rebels.”

“An essential and regular destination for the keen purveyor of used books; in addition to the vinyl, CDs, audio books, DVDs, and video games on offer. It is quite a challenge to leave this shop empty-handed. Overall, a good range of stock and a pleasant atmosphere conducive to an extended browse make this one of the best charity shops in Bristol”

“Due to the proximity with the university - maybe - sometimes it's possible to find real gems of books at basement bargain prices.Last I found, books by Peter Druker and Michael Porter.”

“PDSA is a veterinary charity offering care for pets of people in need. The largest charity shop in Staple Hill area, this is the best one for everyday clothes. I can easily find t-shirts and jeans here including some good brands. The shop is nicely laid out with clothes organised by colour first and size second.”

“I've edited this review (delete last one) as it was not this shop I was complaining about. Sue Ryder is a good charity shop with good prices and friendly staff. It's managed to keep its prices down for goods as other charity shops take advantage.”

“Friendly staff and you can even have some banter with them too (if there not to busy coffee taste good to I would recommend you pop in and try for yourself it's not like the normal coffee shop where you take your coffee sit down and then forgot about go on give it a try and blame me if you did not enjoy it. Thanks for reading (if you did)”

“Very reasonable prices. Not the hugest selection of clothes for adults, and limited bric-a-brac but worth a look, never know what you'll find.. Lots of books and DVDs. Staff always pleasant and friendly in my experience.”

“A real gem of a charity shop - directly opposite Sainsburys on the Triangle -" Worth crossing the road for" especially as its open on Sundays - Near Waitrose and the gyms anytime fitness and Nuffield Gym. A quirky retro section that is expanding and a really good menswear department with a browse around the DVDS, Vinyl and books. Eclectic mix with Electricals & homeware and the volunteers are always ready to go one step beyond by sourcing something from the stock room - went in really late in the day looking for dress for that night - tried loads on and found a really nice one - Really good value for students as you can save on your books as well as some festival ready fashion and regular stuff.”

“Every time I go to St Peter's Hospice I always go in thinking I'll just look and I promise I won't buy anything unless I love it and it fits be perfectly. Came away again yesterday with another dress £4.75 and it fits perfectly. There was also a beautiful Jasper Conran summer dress for a fiver! Bargain. However it was sadly 1 size too large for me. There are nice lockable changing rooms, a change from the sketchy curtain rail in the corner that is in most charity shops and the volunteer staff are sweet. The rule of charity stores is check regularly as you never know what you are going to find, I have been lucky and always found something good in here.”

“I have had two good experiences with this branch of BHF. I found and bought an old wall unit in the upstairs section at an excellent price. The delivery men did a fantastic job bringing it into my place and were were very friendly. Later I found I had two large items to donate but because I don’t have a car I needed help removing them. I enquired with other charity shops but they failed to reply or weren’t able to send a van. BHF were very prompt about arranging collection, and again the guys collecting were excellent. I’m sure I’ll buy from or donate to BHF again in future.”

“This is a great charity shop with a very cool owner. I happen to know for a fact she is a child of the 60s and a huge fan of The Beatles, The Stones, The Faces...and this is reflected in the stock she sells. They are great for toys, but even better for books. They have some real gems on the bookshelves here. I got my John Peel autobiography from here with his festive 50 from every year listed in the back. Mmm I got some great playlists out of that book. The staff at this branch are also lovely people, great for a chat and they will help you find anything. They are perfect for fancy dress costumes, intentionally. The manager knows who her market is; students. But if you can't find what you are looking for on the shop floor just ask as they have mountains of donated stock in the back.”

“Visited this charity shop for the first time on 28/06. The lady working there was so helpful and friendly; she checked out the back for more cuddly toys and books for me. Super cheap too, books £1.50 for 3 or 75p each and soft toys only 50p, this is much cheaper than most charity shops. I found lots of childrens books by quality authors. I will be visiting again.”

“The staff here are nice and friendly and the clothes are quite spread out so its easier to move around than some of the other charity shops in the area. It does have a changing room in the middle of the store which has a curtain rail, I'm always convinced people can see me changing, if I can see out, surely other people can see in! Luckily I'm not an overly modest person ;-) Unlike some of the other charity shops it tends to have a fairly standard range of high street clothes. It does stock a good bit of primark clothes, I don't really like paying almost the same price for a 2nd hand item that I would if I bought it new in Primark. Then again, that's probably saying a bit more about how Primark are able to sell their stuff so riduculously cheaply. I have found a few bits and pieces here, trousers and books at very reasonable prices. There was a lovely black dress from River Island in there last week selling for under a fiver, when you consider how much you pay for high street prices, you can find some cheap gems here.”
