“My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary. We'd both flagged up some health conditions to the staff when we booked, and they couldn't have been more attentive or supportive. Not only that, but the food was absolutely superb (and perfectly cooked) and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. With a seasonal menu using local produce, thorough attention to detail and genuine care for what they do, I'm surprised that the place isn't packed to the rafters every night! If you're happy to venture away from the centre of town for the evening, this is the place to go.”

“You could not wish for a better Post Office/Village Store. Umang and Vaishali are fantastic and so dedicated, they stock everything you could need or think of (in the region of 6000 products I believe). During the pandemic lockdowns they provided a lifeline to the local community, especially the elderly/those sheltering. Josh who often mans the shop is always friendly and helpful. Great opening times. If you need to get there by car the parking can be tricky at busy times, but that's Pensford for you. An absolute asset to the village, thank you.”

“A handy local shop, open longer (than bigger shops) on a Sunday. Obviously a smaller range than a big supermarket but very handy for quick small shops. Everyone I’ve come across working in there has been pleasant, helpful and friendly.”

“Great store, has the best food and drink for anything. Anything up to American sweets and general chocolate. Good for the money and nice customer service. Every time I’m in Bristol, I go here as it is one of the best corner shops I’ve been to”

“Great off licence, the gentleman behind the counter is always friendly, he makes time to chit chat whilst I pay and always says ‘God bless you’. It may only be a small interaction, but I always leave the shop feeling peaceful. I’m not from Bristol, I travel from Swansea for work, but this is my go to shop for whatever I may need. Five stars for this shop and the owner/staff. This isn’t your regular off licence!”

“Loved it here. We came mid-week, but this place was busy so would recommend booking a table. Great atmosphere and service was friendly throughout. Both my husband and I went for the jerk chicken leg (with an extra piece of chicken...). This was delicious - the chicken fell off the bone, and the gravy had a great depth of flavour. There was also a good chilli kick too. It wasn't really hot, but the chilli built up throughout the course of the meal. The chicken came with rice and beans and fried plantains - and we also ordered some coleslaw too. Everything worked well together. Would definitely come back here again to try some of the other meals on the menu, and some of the cocktails too!”

“A really friendly local shop and not what we expected at all. They have a really good selection of groceries-not the usual rubbish you get in some small shops. A decent selection of Wines/beer. Frozen foods. Fresh foods. Nice breads and some unusual bits and pieces as well as some newspapers, magazines and the usual chocolate and crisps etc. A pleasant surprise and much easier than going to the supermarket if you just want a few things.”

“I used to go there 40 years ago. It has not changed! Totally authentic, well stocked. A much much better experience than at Tesco and other large corporations outlets!”

“A medium sized supermarket with all the essentials for life with a bit of verity. Hand sanitizer available at the door. The aisle have a one way system which unfortunately people tend to ignore. Their own products are usually very good and often better than the more well known brands. The shop has an Amazon pickup point to save having to wait for a deliveryLarge carpark that always has room to park and some recycling containers at the far end. Nice walk next to the river close by.”

“I have been using this little Spar for many years. It's been a lifesaver for locals especially in times of bad weather. The staff are always friendly and willing to help out. We are really lucky to have this. Thank you to everyone who works there.Jane”

“Have always found the staff very friendly and helpful. In a handy spot. Have always found Co-op quite good for healthy food and drink. My local Tesco's (the nearest shop to my home as I live a bit off the beaten track) didn't stock decaff coffee for years so I have always preferred the Co-op, which stocks Ecover products (I have multiple allergies and intolerances and have to be very careful what I use, but find Dettol and Ecover fine), plus a good range of herbal teas.,,,”

“Although currently shopping at this store is a nightmare due to refurbishment I want to say a member of staff called Scott was so helpful when I wanted to purchase some chippings. He came and lifted them into my trolley and when I had paid for them he came out to my car and lifted them in for me.”

“Very large co-op.Off site parking on the road.Trolleys and wheeled baskets available.Cash point outside.Manned tills and self checkout tills.Security on door, so feels extra safe.Large range of products, very well stocked, clean and tidy.Deliveroo options available here.Staff seem friendly but I use the self checkouts which are quite slow at times.”

“Very friendly, helpful people nice atmosphere.Shop prices can rocket on some items and eventually back to normal just don’t pay the extra and wait , till then buy something else but it is a Tesco’s express so......other than that good experience.”

“Decent service station with a fabulously wide range of interesting food. Pretty much a mini supermarket really with some deli specials, I had a cheese and apple sausage roll and a Boston jerk scotch egg.. Admittedly more expensive than a supermarket but it is a garage and it's the last stop on the way to Bristol airport from the west country and it's much cheaper than the airport for food with arguably a better/wider selection.Fuel prices are reasonable. Also features subway and they have a Costa machine.Plenty of parking round the back from the pumps, the spaces are labelled Tout.”

“Joe was a wonderful patron, he helped me do my shopping whilst the shop was quiet. Going into a supermarket with social anxiety can be very difficult but people like joe make it a whole lot easier!”

“Friendly, helpful staff. This is medium sized convenience store and off license, selling quite a good selection of English and foreign food and drinks. Most foreign items are pretty much self explanatory, but it would be great if there was some kind of description for items in English, for those of us not versed in other languages.Overall, I can recommend giving this store a try. You may be pleasently surprised at what you can find.”

“Lovely staff at this store. My experience has been that they are friendly and always willing to help.A special Thank You to ** Sarah **, who helped to sort out a problem when DPD repeatedly failed to collect a parcel that I had dropped off there. She made sure it got collected and that I received a full refund”

“Great place to get a quick bite to eat! They sell all sorts of food and drink, and something I recommend is cheese and ham slice, which can be eaten warm or cold! The owner is also great, and very helpful. Recommended! Only issue is that there's around a £1 minimum from what I can remember, but it's still great!”
