Brilliant shop. Excellent selection of books always of superb quality. Of specific praise is the DVD section, the stock they get in is so good, Curzon, criterion, rare old foreign films, BFI releases- just excellent.

I am the manager of the British Heart Foundation Books and Music shop at 148 Whiteladies Road, Clifton, Bristol BS8 2RS. We have been serving the local community for 12 years and, as independent bookshops and major bookselling chains have increasingly been closing down in recent years, we have become highly valued by people in Bristol and further afield. We have scarcely raised our prices in the time we've been going. We love to help our customers find what they need. We are very proud of our bookshop and of the contribution we make to the vital work of the British Heart Foundation, and we hope you will visit us and review us soon.

Good range of books, all for a good cause

It seems all the craze these days for charity shops to branch out into the world of just books and music, and British Heart Foundation are clean to hop on the band wagon. It's a bit of a trek up White Ladies but really very worth it once you get here. The selection is so varied and vast I have a hard time believing it all comes from donations. The music, for instance, stretches from Lenon to Arctic Monkeys to Dubstep and the book choice is huge! Books on insects, murder mysteries and so much more all peering out the woodwork. A bit of a stomp up the hill, but worth it.

I love this store in Clifton, at the top of Whiteladies Road. Its range of books, from the latest novels through celebrity tripe (if that's your thing) to a selection of the must-read-once-in-your-lifetime classics is absolutely fantastic, especially considering that it's a charity shop that relies on the kindness (and reading tastes) of the local people - yes, that's a little reminder to give anything you've read already to this shop and help out the ailing hearts of the British people. As was mentioned before, the prices are a little high for a charitable organisation, but then it's all going to a good cause. The music side of things is a little disappointing, but then so is HMV in the age of the internet.

This books and music outlet of the British Heart Foundation chain in trendy Clifton Village has a fantastic range of donations from the latest best sellers to classic novels. Thanks to the, apparently, well read locals the quality of BHF's stock ranges from 'pristine' to 'barely thumbed'. The volunteers of this shop must be quite savvy, because the prices are above average for the normal high street charity shop. The shop assistants are very friendly and helpful, so if you're looking for something specific don't hesitate to ask. Easily one of the best charity shops in Clifton.
