Lodging in Thatcham, Berkshire

“We live locally and enjoy popping in for a drink by the fire but hadn’t eaten there for sometime so booked a Christmas meal with friends. We all had the pie which was excellent! The staff struggled to cope with a very busy night but did a good job under the circumstances. Overall a lovely meal but spoilt somewhat by the ridiculously bright lights in the dining area! It felt like we were eating in an operating theatre and completely ruined the cosy country pub atmosphere. Easy to fix with a dimmer switch or less powerful bulbs though - or next time I will request a table in the bar.”

“Location was perfect for me after an extremely long day driving,was absolutely shattered and really pleased when I got there,my room was spotless and Sanjay the guy on reception was really helpful and still managed to keep a smile while he helped me out ,well done Sanjay mate I know I,m an extremely miserable so and so when I,m tired ?Food & drinks: Nearby services are 1 minute walk they are 24 hour services but m&s and a few of the other shops are shut by 11 so check out online for times”
