Being a real ale pub it was a bit disappointing to only find one beer - Harveys Best Bitter - availalable on tap.
The food was good - I had the coronation chicken and a child had the kitchen chicken nuggets. Both came with excellent chunky chips.
The real disppointment was the coffee: despite coming out of a counter-top coffee maker, two of us felt it was like a REALLY BAD instant coffee - PLEASE GET A BETTER COFFEE MAKER!!!

Popped in for a drink with a friend who used to drink there regularly when she lived nearby. It was very pleasant sitting outside. Friendly staff. Seems they do a lot for the community.

A proper old school pub with a warm welcome, child and pet friendly (play areas for both), good quality traditional pub grub at good prices, plus a world class pint of Harvey?s Best. My toddler loved it almost as much as I did!Kid-friendliness: Play area in the garden with toys and games (no slide or swings though)

Friendly greeting and service. Bar has good atmosphere and lovely garden. Had delicious freshly made chicken sandwiches . Seem to have lots of music nights. Highly recommend ??

Looking for a breakfast today we found The Nags head. We had an excellent big breakfast exactly what we needed. very friendly pub friendly staff thank you for giving us a good start to the day. Definitely worth stopping by.

Yeah decided to edit this on a return visit. Yeah the food was nice, but the "regulars" who prop up the bar give you the evil eye when you walk in which is less than welcoming. It's like walking into a western saloon bar where the music stops when you walk in . Never mind we have a few drinks (Corona on tap is nice) so we decide to bring our empties in when we leave. We're met with a load of glasses on the bar when we bring them back and I ask "are these clean or dirty?" So we know where to put them and the barmaids reply? "Yeah I was talking to these people first". Okay, trying to do you a favour, we'll leave them out in the beer garden next time.. nice enough place, the service and atmosphere does put you off from returning though.
