Really crappy service.
Took my car in for a headlight aiming , after 5 minutes in the shop I was told that the adjustment screws weren?t working and they can?t do anything about it.
Came home and had a fiddle with them, turns out the were maxed out to the highest setting, no possibility of aiming them higher. So yeah? there you go? Halfords professionals. Should really ask for my £20 back.

Went to get 2 of my tyres done that I booked online beforehand, it took just under 2h to complete!
Chris in the reception was incredibly rude not just to me but to other customers and the rest of the staff nobody deserves to be treated like that. Will not be going there again.

On completion of a service. Halford Auto claimed my battery was at 20% and were quoting £256. As I was driving over to Paris from Surrey, I was concerned. I found a cheaper one at a Halfords store with fitting of £150. The fitter checked the battery and said there was nothing wrong with it. The manager at the auto center insisted I shouldn't trust them and he had full trust in his technicians. He recommended that it was replaced as it was less than 3 years old. However, the battery fitter could not replace the battery as there was nothing wrong with it. I visited a different Halfords Auto centre who also confirmed there was nothing wrong with the battery. I logged a complaint about the lack of integrity of the service and stated I could not trust any other information from the service and that the manager was going against the organization ethos when talking negatively about other Halfords branches. I was informed I would have an area manager contact me in 76hrs. It has know been 10 days.

Extremely Disappointed ? Avoid Halfords Autocentre Sandhurst
I took my car to Halfords Autocentre Sandhurst on 4th March 2025 for a tyre replacement. When I returned, the car had sustained damage to the cill due to incorrect lifting of the vehicle. I have clear photographic evidence that my car was undamaged before the service, and I was able to replicate the damage in the same spot, proving it occurred at their garage.
Even worse, Halfords claim to take 6 photos before and after every job. While the before photos clearly show no damage, the after photos were mysteriously blanked out or missing, making it impossible to assess the car?s condition post-service. When questioned, the manager admitted this was unacceptable and claimed the staff member responsible had been reprimanded ? yet they continue to deny any responsibility.
They also confirmed their CCTV cameras do not record, so there?s no additional footage to review ? a huge red flag for any reputable garage. Despite giving them time to respond and offering a chance to resolve the matter amicably, I?ve received no resolution or compensation.
I am now escalating this to Halfords Head Office, the Motor Ombudsman, Trading Standards, and pursuing the matter through the Small Claims Court. I?ve also obtained an independent assessment to confirm the damage was caused during the tyre replacement.
I strongly urge anyone considering using this garage to think twice. This experience has shown a complete lack of accountability and transparency.
