VE used to be one of my favorite shops in town.then they started promoting the care plan (completely non flexible, difficult to navigate on how to renew if you need new lenses before the 2 years mark - it happens more often than you think!) and forgot about caring for the clients.They cancelled 4 booked (and confirmed) appointments in 3 weeks; I got absolutely no help/assistance during the frame choice; when entering the shop they barely greet you and it just looks like they're bothered by your presence... when I picked up my new glasses (fast lead time - 1 week) the didn't even clean the lenses after adjusting the frame to my ears/nose.Every time I get into the shop I'm more and more unimpressed.Please do something to make it pleasant.

I went today for an eye test after 2 years and after my last experience which was pretty poor.This was an absolute turn around thanks to Preeti the Optician or should I say ophthalmologist who is incredibly professional, thorough and explained everything very clearly and obviously loves her work, super refreshing and an asset to their business.She took her time and patience with the thorough tests and explanation and truly cares about her patients.I chose new glasses which have gone up in price but they offered a good eye care plan .As someone in business i appreciated the diligence and care of this young lady and the difference from last times experience which was poor .I was considering not going back to Vision express but glad I did And that is a bigThanks to preeti and the other gentlemen who's name I don't know .

It's a shame that they turn down people with appointments if you are late by 6 mins. If it was a single appointment, I would understand that the next person might have to wait. But with 3 continuous appointments, which means 2 hours booked for the family, they still do not want to honor the appointment. What are they going to do for those 2 hours. Just sit in the room on Facebook or Instagram. Zero understanding and customer service.

Was left feeling really disappointed with the service I was provided. Was happy with my eye test and the results. However my appointment had been booked through work, with costs covered. When I communicated this to the member of staff, they did not seem to want to help me and pressured me to pay for my appointment despite me saying this had been covered through my work. I have since contacted the shop to ask for a refund as my appointment was indeed covered through work and they are refusing to provide me a refund, despite my work voucher still being valid. I?m left feeling like I have been robbed by Vision Express and I will not be recommending them to anyone. The staff were very unhelpful and me feel very uncomfortable, especially as this was my first ever eye test.

I?d only ever used my childhood family-run opticians so was hesitant to try a chain, but Vision Express exceeded my expectations! Professional, timely and they offered very good deals on glasses and appointments which made it a lot more affordable than most.

Always great customer service and a friendly face. Staff very knowledgeable about adult and child needs. Will always use reading vision express for me and my daughter.

Really cannot complain. The manager was very very helpful when we were just browsing, asking if we wanted a coffee or drink... Then gave us a tray to hold all of the items we were looking at. He took time to give us all the info and pricing we needed and then left us alone to make our decisions.I purchased some sun glasses, which were unfortunately slightly scratched, but only noticed when I got home. I returned a week later and they offered the same glasses but with polarised lenses instead... Upgrade! Very happy with the service! Thank you.

I was late for my appointment 3 minutes and they wouldn't see me. On the website says that eye test takes around 25 minutes and it wasn't even busy. Not the great customer service.It was on the Broad Street Reading

Ian from the Reading branch was able to fix my glasses on the spot! He is a total life saver. I would recommend vision express, I was turned away from specsavers instantly.

Friendly & helpful staff. Optometrist who carried out my annual Eye test/check-up was v helpful with explanations & I was thoroughly checked out in a professional manner. Highly recommended!

Bought my glasses from here about 2 weeks ago. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Received my glasses through the post and they look great! Will definitely be going back
