pretty affordable stuff, although be aware some of the prices are incorrect. bought a ring binder labelled £1 and paid £1.50, i'm not bothered but could be mistakes like this on other items. staff are lovely and shop is usually well organised. only off putting thing was the man who ate his shopping list next to me, seriously i wish i was joking. ??

Staff were rude went in and brought the foam puzzle pieces, two other staff stood at till taking no notice that we was even there till we left to go up the escalator where then the coloured lady that was to busy talking to the other one come running out the shop accusing us of stealing it if she took more notice of her customers she?s would of known we paid for it, top it off she didn?t even apologise for her own mistake!! Rude customer service if you ask me they all need to be trained again on how to treat customers

Nineteen eighty-one, a seed was sown,
The Works began, its future yet unknown.
A humble start, a vision taking flight,
To bring the joy of learning, day and night.
From modest shelves, a treasure trove did grow,
With paints and pens, and seeds for minds to sow.
Bright crayons danced, and pencils sharp and keen,
A vibrant world, a colourful scene.
The years flew by, a tapestry unfurled,
Across the land, a new story swirled.
Five hundred stores, a nationwide embrace,
A welcoming space, in every time and place.
The online realm, a digital domain,
Extended reach, a widening chain.
A click, a scroll, a purchase swift and sure,
Creative sparks ignited, evermore.
Arts and crafts, a haven for the hand,
To mould and shape, to understand.
The vibrant hues, the textures rich and deep,
Imagination's secrets, gently keep.
Toys that enchant, and games that make us smile,
Childhood dreams, for a little while.
Adventures played, in castles built of blocks,
The laughter rings, in happy, joyful flocks.
Books, a gateway to faraway lands,
Where heroes rise, with magic in their hands.
Stories whispered, knowledge shared with grace,
A journey's start, in time and space.
Stationery's charm, with notes and cards so fine,
Expressing thoughts, in words that intertwine.
A simple phrase, a message heartfelt, true,
Connections made, both old and new.
From humble roots, a giant now has grown,
Its influence spread, its presence widely shown.
Inspiring all, to learn and grow and play,
The Works endures, and brightens every day.
Through changing times, its spirit stays the same,
A dedication strong, a burning, steady flame.
To foster growth, and nurture creativity's art,
To touch the lives, and mend a broken heart.
A legacy built, on passion and on care,
A vibrant place, beyond compare.
The Works stands tall, a beacon shining bright,
A source of joy, a wondrous, hopeful light.

Visited this shop with my kids and felt staff is so unhappy .. even I felt they seemed not happy to see my kids around although it?s a shop for kids mostly .. finally I paid for my things and didn?t even get a thank you .. I won?t be too looking forward to going there if I can get my need fulfilled anywhere else, with more happy to see us people around.

Witnessed someone with a sunflower lanyard being targeted by staff in the shop specifically a dark skinned lady. Might want to train your staff up on disabilities before you get a lawsuit.

Rude staff member (blonde with tacky black fake lashes in her 30s) had a grumpy attitude after being asked to process a return on a faulty item by her colleague

I bought play dough from your branch in Reading broad street mall last week and when I opened the package, I saw that the dough was dry and spoiled. When I took it to the branch, I learned that I could not request anything because I opened the package. my complaint about a damaged product was never taken into account. I will never shop at your store again
