Lovely little cafe. I'm an old lady with memory issues and an abusive husband which means I often wander around town with absolutely no clue what the hell I'm doing. But when I happened to stumble in a few months ago, the young lady I spoke to was ever so sweet and welcoming, despite my incredibly bizarre and intrusive interrogation. I hope she have been promoted her for her stellar customer service. ??

Very very poor flatwhite. As pale as pale can be - likely one one shot.

A pleasant place to dine and eat cake!

I was very late getting lunch, as I had an appointment earlier, so there wasn't much choice, especially as I don't eat red meat, so only egg mayonnaise or tuna and cucumber. I always begrudge paying for egg mayo when it is so cheap to make, so I ended up with a tuna and cucumber soft baguette. I prefer the crusty baguettes and it was disappointing as it was very dry as it did not have any spread on the baguette and not a huge amount of filling, so just tuna mayo and cucumber. I did not enjoy it at all. It cost around £6.00 which is a lot for something you didn't like. I also had a scone with butter and jam, which was nice, and a pot of tea. The service was slow and not enough people serving. I have had fish, chips and mushy minted peas here before which was very expensive at £12.95, but really delicious, large portion of fish in crunchy batter and lovely chips. I would much rather have paid for that which only cost about £1 more than what I had, but no hot meals due to the lateness. I will definitely come back as when it is earlier they have some lovely food.

Don't really come to this cafe but fancied something to eat while shopping here.came on a weekday and it was packed noticed that its mostly elderly people who like to eat here.it was very noisy and felt like I was in a school canteen! Food prices can be a little pricey depending wat you order.not much variety.but food is still good.worth a try I guess.

Had a lovely ice cram here with my mother. The food is excellent and the service has been brilliant every time I have been here.

Been here a few times and each time has been great.
Staff all okay no issues and they make amazing chai lattes
Food is also good - I usually grab the full English with a desert.
Would recommend to all since it's very spacious and they even have another cafe below which I will need to go and try someday

We had tomato soup which was really not that warm. The whole wheat roll that we took was not warmed up so the entire dish fell a bit apart due to that. The carrot cake with pistachio cream was amazing...the brownie was bit eggy so wouldn't repeat that. Service was nice and place was being turned over quickly.

Absolutely used to love this place but unfortunately has gone down hill. Please avoid unless you want to make yourself ill.Ordered two sausages in a roll, sausages were partially cold one side hot. When told the staff they couldn?t care less. When told how dangerous This is, the reply was they are cooked, l already I explained if they are not requested correctly this can make people extremely ill. The manager didn?t seem to care. Really disappointed not only with the food but also the service I used to go here a lot but I won?t be returning after this experience! Josh Lewis need appropriately trained staff!!!!

A pleasant place for lunch and tea. Love the coffee as it?s brewed with medium roasted beans. Staffs are nice and pleasant. It?s adjacent to the Thames so don?t forget to select the window seats.

Very rude staff on till. Food inedible (see photo of stale cinnamon bun). The restaurant manager did talk to the staff member involved and provided a refund, but then tried to defend the person by saying there were extenuating circumstances. We have been happy on previous visits, but will probably never come here again. Try BBs in the Oracle for a much better experience. Here are some useful phrases that you may like to train your staff to say:1. Sorry to keep you waiting (after it has taken 3 members of staff and 10 minutes to put the 6 items of the previous customer through the till).2. Would you like a receipt (after someone has paid, but shows no sign of moving). Certainly don't try to charge them again, or rudely tell them "you should have asked for a receipt".3. I'm sorry, I'll refund your card (when they ask for a refund after you have charged them for 3 coffees instead of 2). Certainly don't say "are you sure you didn't have 3 coffees".4. I'm sorry I don't know how to process a refund (rather than shout for someone else to help you, and when the customer tries to explain to the person that has come to help, shout at the customer "you should be talking to me").5. I'll make sure it doesn't happen again (when dealing with a customer complaint). Certainly don't try to blame the previous customer for diabolical customer service (I saw how the previous customer was treated, and they didn't do anything wrong).6. Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude (when a customer points out how rude you are being). Certainly don't try to justify your rudeness by saying "I'm a person too".Better training of staff on how to use the till for offers may be helpful (hint: if it is a scone, cream and jam offer then you need to enter all 3 so that you can apply the offer, even if the customer doesn't want jam).

A good selection of cakes and hot food. Very little, or nothing at all, for someone who is gluten intolerant. It doesn't take much to offer more choice for those who are, so that friends can eat together and enjoy the atmosphere in a spacious area.
