Me and friend went for the swim and dine package. We were really looking forward to going as we had been meaning to go for some time but we were really disappointed.
As first time users we weren?t told a lot of information eg what time food will be, where you pay the bill ect.
We got changed and headed to the pool area expecting there to be loungers all around the area, nothing! Only tables for the restaurant were available and even they had ?reserved? written on them. So if you didn?t fancy getting in the cold pool then where do you sit to relax and enjoy the sun!?
We couldn?t get a drink because we had nowhere to put it. The pool was full of people doing lane swimming, which is fine however you couldn?t really stand in the pool as you?d be in the way.
We then went for the food, that wasn?t anything amazing, expensive for what it is.
We got the steak to share which was £5 each more, you don?t get alot there to share and it was quite fatty.
After the meal we got up to get changed as we were still in our wet swimming clothes,
on exiting the changing room we were met with a staff member waiting outside our door with the bill, we were quite shocked by this! We asked if we done something wrong, were we meant to pay the bill before ect but she insisted there was no right or wrong way but clearly there was as she wouldn?t have been waiting outside our door.
As I mentioned at the top, we weren?t told when the bill gets paid so we didn?t know what we were doing.
Upon paying the bill we had to also pay £6 parking!
Also the beer we had during our food cost us £10 or more each!!
The whole time we were so underwhelmed, and both said we wouldn't recommend or go back.
A day we had planned to be child free and expecting a nice chilled relaxing afternoon, didn?t turn out the way we had imagined.

Such a great experience and so well organised.
Loved that there were no kids in there when I arrived at 5.30pm.
One thing I didn?t realise was that it was a lap pool instead of just swimming/ chilling. It did get more relaxed towards the end.
They said it was 26 degrees but was freezing. You do eventually get used to the temperature. The hot tub was crowded and felt more like the temperature the pool should have been but was perfect on a warm day.
The food, drinks and service was impeccable. Can?t wait to come back again and try the rest of it. Seriously so, so good!

A midweek visit to Thames Lido offered a refreshing swim and a thoughtfully composed meal in a bright, breezy setting by the pool. The menu struck a confident balance: not overly long, but with enough variety to feel considered, and several combinations stood out for their novelty and flair.
The duck breast main was a solid example?flavoursome and nicely complemented by freekeh, whose nutty bite made a welcome change from more predictable grains. The duck itself was well-cooked, though edging more done than ideal; a slightly pinker centre would have made the texture and flavour sing. A heavier hand with the salt also nudged the seasoning past its best point.
Among the sides, the courgettes with za?atar and the crispy potatoes with bell pepper ketchup were both skilfully prepared and well matched to the mains. The real standout, though, was dessert. Ice cream laced with sourdough offered intrigue without gimmick, and the dark chocolate and miso sorbet was a masterclass in balance, unexpected and entirely delicious.
By contrast, the chocolate mousse (generous to a fault) started strong, its olive oil and za?atar garnish adding interest. However, the richness became overwhelming midway through, and the oil-seed combo ultimately dominated the finish.
The service throughout was friendly and attentive, with enough staff present to keep everything moving smoothly. The lido?s atmosphere?sunlight, gentle music, and a sense of low-key indulgence?rounded off the visit with a touch of calm charm. A few small tweaks could elevate the food from very good to excellent, but overall, it was a memorable way to combine swim and supper.

Really enjoyed our day, would have even better if was adult only, as screaming babies/kids ruin the vibe.

The first time, my partner and I visited the lido. Perfect treat for his birthday and on a hot day, which had aggravated my Rheumatoid arthritis to flare up- meant I
could bring my inflammation levels right down with the temperature of the water. Friendly staff and on spec design. I would highly reccomend the pool to come too, if you like outdoor swimming ????, especially in the summer weather.

Disappointing experience, it?s only when you search deeper online that it mentions the ?heated pool? is only lightly warmed (still cold on a breezy day). Came to join for my girlfriends 30th but it was also over crowded, queues for cubicles and as the pool was cold resulted in everyone sitting in the hot tub with no space for others. We left pretty frustrated as traveled from London and upon leaving had no questions from the team which makes me suspect it happens often.

We are fortunate that our daughter and husband have a membership. We are treated to a visit every time we?re in town. Live it!

Nice and chill atmosphere with good facilities and friendly staff. The massage treatment was also refreshing! The outdoor pool and the hot tub were amazing, specifically with the bar and restaurant close by!

Fabulous place to celebrate a special occasion
Better still a fabulous place to visit just to chill out and enjoy the company of friends in the hot tub, sauna and swimming pool and if you really want to enjoy a massage and meal the Reading Lido is the place to go.
Oh, the staff are so special they will make you so welcome

Another outstanding experience at Thames Lido.
I visited on Sunday 13th July with my partner for the swim, sauna, massage and lunch package. This was our second visit in as many months and once again, it exceeded all expectations.
The facilities are spotless, well-organised and maintained to a very high standard. Both massages, with Dalia and Grace were absolutely exceptional. Truly some of the best we've ever had.
Lunch was first class. Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The kitchen clearly takes pride in what they serve.
The whole team, from reception to spa to restaurant are professional, welcoming and clearly love what they do. You?ve created something very special here.
Well done to all of you. We?ll be back again soon.

Friendly staff and clean facilities. Very busy considering that when we booked we were told Monday afternoon is one of the quieter times. Decent restaurant food. We did the Swim and Dine package and invited a couple of friends to join us for the meal. We found the bill confusing and had to spend a lot of time convincing the staff not to overcharge us by £100, but got there in the end. £6 parking as we were there for 3 hours.
