It's ok, but could be much better.
Staff are unwelcoming. For example, I found some nice items for my mum but staff made inappropriate comments about a man purchasing feminine items.
Every time I've visited, the staff working there don't seem to want to be there or they don't want you there. A very uncomfortable atmosphere, especially for a charity shop!

I brought some donations to this charity shop today. It is a lovely shop and I found the staff friendly and helpful - Ross actually insisted on carrying some goods in from the car. Couldn't be better

First charity shop I've been into where I felt unwelcome! Two staff followed me around the store, like I was going to steal something. I even sat in a sofa and they came and wiped the sofa next to me down.
The lady behind the counter has more emotion that a potato! Not even a good afternoon, how are we. Infact thinking about it I don't think she even said the price! She stood in silence waiting for me to pay. Can't say I'll be rushing back to visit

Terrible service. They advertised free furniture collection, so I booked a collection, specifying the items that I would be donating. The collection was accepted, and I received confirmation that it had been booked, but then it was suddenly cancelled the next morning. When I called to ask why the collection was cancelled, the person who answered the phone was rude , said I'm not donating enough items to be worth it for them, and hung up on me when I asked why there is no mention on their website or furniture collection booking form that there is a threshold on how many items you'd have to donate, and why my donation was booked for collection in the first place if it doesn't meet their criteria.

Gave in a huge bag of my late dad?s clothes today. Not even a thanks ?. Was a bit gutted giving away so much good stuff.
I hadn?t signed up to gift aid apparently so did there and then and just hope my name is assigned to the big blue bag of stuff given in as someone else took it round the back whilst signing up.

Wasn?t acknowledged even through the transaction of paying.
No customer service at all.
From one charity shop manager to another ? your reputation is all you have. You build you reputation through positive interactions with your community.
Smiling, saying hello, thanking the customer for their purchase ware all positive interactions you should implement.
I wasn?t even told the price or asked how I would like to pay. I was met with pure silence from the he older lady at the tills.
If this was a volunteer with additional needs I would understand however the lady was chatting and to the co-workers with no problem.

Very clean and spacious charity shop. The best one in Reading and not far from where I live. Manager Val is very friendly and bubbly too.

Very good charity shop. Friendly, efficient manager. Lots of great items, all reasonably priced. Good sized shop, with a decent amount of free parking outside.

Always a hit and miss, sometimes you'll see high ticket items for a bargain. At other times I have seen £1 items on sale for £4.Maybe volunteers don't know the value of items and the inconsistency across the store.Have also notice that POC are treated differently to non POC, saw a white person give incorrectly labelled item for half its value, whereas I have seen POC been told, it's a charity shop it's already a bargain. The double standards for some of the staff is not good. And just telling the manager doesn't help as I recall her being rude to my mother and when I came to carry her items and we walked away she was made several derogatory comments about a certain group of people. Other staff have been quite nice.

So weird. I?ve never met unpleasant volunteers at charity shops. The lady was abrupt in speaking and I got no smiles at all. It?s sad being it?s quite a noble job, you know.
