Never had an issue with this branch over several years but today they cancelled my son's appointment because they said he is too young. This is despite the NHS website advising that at any stage you should contact an optician if you have concerns about your child's eyesight. The person who called said they won't typically see children until they're 5. Specsaver's own website says they advise from 3 and a half. I complained and they said that their tests are not suitable for young children as they are letter based and the hospital would be a more child friendly environment. But both the NHS and Specsavers website says children's eye tests do not require a child to be able to read and nowhere do the NHS say to take your child to the hospital. Basically, this branch offers NHS eye tests for children but only from an age they've plucked from thin air.

I had a cataract operation on the right eye in March. In July I noticed that my vision was getting blurry again. Michelle identified a macular edema and referred me to the Eye Clinic who confirmed Michelle's diagnosis and prescribed eye drops to cure the problem.
In May I had a DVLA eye test at Specsavers Reading. The optician told the DVLA that the visual visual acuity in my right eye was 6/15, which is below the legal minimum for driving. 5 tests before and after the DVLA found that my true visual acuity is 6/7.5, which is well above the legal minimum of 6/12. Ricky helped me to gather the evidence I needed to report the true visual acuity to the DVLA even though it was Specsavers Reading's error
So Michelle saved my sight and Ricky saved my licence.

I have been experiencing some issues with my new varifocal glasses. Charlie was very helpful in helping me with the proper adjustment of the lenses.
The result is amazing.
After a year of using two pairs of glasses (distance and near) and being dizzy every time (I would see in the fog when looking at me from a distance with the near glasses and vice versa), and my left eye had started to get irritated more and more often.
Basically, with the new pair of glasses I started to see normally again and I also got rid of the irritated eye problem.

Been my opticians for almost 20 years. Always friendly, give you complete attention and time, even if it's just to get something adjusted or a nose pad replaced, they'll assist you until you're happy.
