Visited branch with my 13 year old daughter at half term to try & open a bank account after Lloyds where I had been banking for 40 years failed. As with Lloyds they told me it had to be done online despite being told she does not have a passport only a birth certificate. As expected online application does not accept a birth certificate so I was required to go to branch again. Due to school & sports clubs she is only available on Sat PM or Sunday. Branch is not open at any of those times. We went to Nationwide who sat with her and opened a bank account on the spot. I would have transferred all my accounts & investments to Santander if they could have been more accommodating instead I am going with Nationwide

Absolutely abhorrent to my elderly grandmother. Waited 45 minutes as the 85 year old couldn?t get on her online banking only to be shut down, mocked and no support offered. I had her in tears to me down the phone as all she wanted was to understand the issue; no empathy for the elderly. I completely understand that you may be busy, but my word just be patient and gentle with customers who don?t understand and are elderly! Because of this interaction alone she?s decided to move bank. We have the nasty gentleman?s name and will be escalating further. He even had the audacity to intimidate her and say that she was lucky they were even open!

Banking customer service has been in decline as of late but Santander has taken this to shockingly all-time-low?it?s as if the staff all are carefully selected based on level of their incompetence and condescension !!!

We put in £450 into the machine to put into our account, it came up with an error, kept our money and now we have to wait to next week to dispute getting the money back. Unbelievable, do not use these machines.

As someone who works full time, being open for only 3 hours on Saturday morning is nothing but anti consumer.£1.1 billion pre tax profit in H1 2023 but somehow can't open for longer than 3 hours. Strange.

Tried to deposit cash into an ATM machine at Santander Broadstreet branch. One ATM said ?only contactless transaction is available at the moment? -> didn?t even react to the card, the other one was working but the cash option was greyed out. Been like that a couple of times in the past and this time I have been checking the machines for 3 days hoping to get my deposit done. Called the number on the machine for immediate support, the staff on the line was helpful and friendly but couldn?t help solve the problem right away. I?m just baffled because this is one of the basic services that a bank offers yet the quality has been disappointing. Please get it sorted soon. Thank you.

Got our mortgage from Santander's 2 years ago and really pleased with the service and the time frame the application got processed however other service are very slow and opening times are very short. This bank closes at 3 week days and Saturdays at 12-1, customers who work till late week days and can't make to the bank Saturday mornings really struggle. I hope they change the opening hours.

Really friendly staff, covid safe
