The gym is pretty good and has everything you need but the organisation of the classes is pretty bad.
At least twice I have turned up and there has been no instructor and it's always so hard to find a member of staff to see what's going on. Turns out the staff where either on holiday and forgot to cancel or just didn't realise they had a class that day. It's literally their job to lead classes ? so I'm not sure how you forget. Another time I arrived for a class and 10 minutes after it was supposed to start everyone got a cancellation message to their phone.
When the instructors do turn up they are often 5 minutes late which means the class finishes 5 minutes late and makes it hard to attend a second class if you have booked them back to back.
I know unforeseen events happen but this seems to be a regular occurrence.
If you are only joining this gym for the classes I would recommend looking somewhere else.

Convenient location, great value for money. I go off peak and never have to wait around. Great showers! Can?t complain at all! I highly recommend!

This gym is spacious with plenty of equipment, so you rarely have to wait for a machine. There are also two massage chairs for relaxing after a workout. Evenings can get quite busy, but it?s generally quiet during the rest of the day. The staff are friendly.

I'm a regular gym-goer and usually train during my lunch break, I work nearby but I?m really disappointed with the state of this gym. The hygiene levels are well below standard.
The toilets are absolutely disgusting ? I now make a point of going before I arrive because I refuse to use them.
The ladies' changing rooms have a persistent, unpleasant smell ? it?s strongly reminiscent of poor sanitary hygiene. It's unhygienic, extremely off-putting, and frankly unacceptable.
The equipment itself is grotty and looks like it hasn?t had a proper clean in a long time.
It feels like this branch has adopted a ?mostly student clients, so don?t bother? attitude when it comes to cleanliness. That?s simply not good enough. We pay memberships to be there and deserve clean, hygienic facilities.
PureGym as a brand should be better than this. Please get a professional cleaner in and address this properly ? it?s long overdue.- or get your team of staff to rota the cleaning.

Located in a run down part of caversham road, entrance at the back. Awkward space in two floors equipment crammed. Feels claustrophobic.

My friend bought a day pass and got no emails with any pin to get in. No staff at the gym and no where to call to get this sorted. Bad experience.

My only issue is that I paid for a day pass which I assumed was 24hrs of access from the point of purchase but it reset at midnight meaning I only had 5 hours of access - which is not a days pass.

Been going here for years, given what you pay it's a great gym. Good environment and never had any issues with staff or other members. All abilities welcome and respectable clientele.
