Paula could not have been more helpful to my 13 year old daughter as she opened her first bank account. Doing this at Lloyds (where I have banked for 40 years) proved to be too difficult because she does not have a current passport. We had wasted a Saturday morning in a Lloyds branch, a few hours online and on the phone. It took less than 1 hour I the Nationwide branch with a Birth Certificate. As a result my Lloyds Private banking account will be closed and moved to Nationwide. I save £7 fee on the account and they give me £175. The money is just a bonus, having good customer service is what matters to me.

Today, my mum, me and brother went to the Reading town centre branch, to swap our book accounts over to the new card. My brother has learning difficulties and struggles with social interactions. We were seen by a lovely young woman called Fiona. She was very patient with my brother and spoke to him about his Yu-Gi-Oh cards. She really helped keep my brother calm and he was able to change is account over. Thank you, Fiona.

They no longer recognise certain passports and just blocked my account. I?ve revisited the branch with all the documents but still blocking my account because the staff made mistakes. I only asking what exactly documents they need, no one can answer the question even I tried to contact the 24hours hotline and went to another branch etc.
They promised couple times to call me back on the same day but disappointed me every time.
I just don?t feel safe to put my money in here as it feels like they can use any reason to block my account or even tell me that all my money disappeared one day.

Went into Reading today and was met by Amit. The service we received was 5 star! Extremely friendly, answered all our questions, made sure we understood everything and made it a pleasure to visit the branch.Thanks for the excellent service.The service was so good, my wife was raving about it to team members in Halifax (which we visited after), and got no where near the same experience in there.

Went down to Reading to open a new Flexi saver account and get advice on transferring funds from two existing accounts.We were helped by a lovely lady named Polly ,who gave out written instructions to carry out the transaction.Both my wife and I have been members for over 30 years and really appreciate dealing with experienced PEOPLE...hopefully Nationwide will continue maintaining high st branches and not be tempted into the unrewarding experience of exclusively online banking!
