As a long-standing customer who used to frequent this store 2-3 times a week, my experiences over the last year going from bad to worse. Unfortunately, the overall quality of the store has declined, and it is mainly due to the staff, particularly in the butchery department, which has been the most affected.In the past, the butchery department was well-organized and provided excellent customer service under the previous manager, Jeff. However, since Jeff's departure, the new manager's approach seems to have been influenced negatively by a long-standing and exceptionally lazy member of the department. This individual displays a dismissive attitude towards customers seeking assistance.Moreover, it appears that the management has failed to implement necessary adjustments to their re-ordering systems, leading to inconsistent product availability. At times, they don't have enough stock to meet customer demands, while on other occasions, they have excessive quantities that result in the sale of products nearing their expiration dates. Shockingly, when customers inquire about fresher products stored in the cold room, they are met with outright denial from the staff.As someone who spends thousands of pounds at this store every month, I find it disheartening that I can no longer rely on them for a satisfactory shopping experience. Consequently, I have decided to seek alternative sources for my supplies, and I will only resort to this store when absolutely necessary.I sincerely urge the management to address these issues promptly. A simple solution would be to conduct occasional mystery shopper evaluations to gauge the level of customer service and product management. Taking note of these concerns and implementing appropriate improvements will undoubtedly win back the trust of many dissatisfied customers like myself.

Dinosaurs of the catering supply industry. The car park, store layout, store procedures, toilets, cashiering all makes you feel like you've stepped back in time to a store from the 80s. Every time I return I question why I bothered. Worst of all, hands down, has to be the butchery. The staff there behave as if they're doing you a favor whenever you ask for anything with dismissive indifference. There used to be a chap in the butchery who was very helpful, but sadly it seems he must have retired, leaving behind those with the can't-do attitude to dominate and influence new staff.At this rate I doubt the branch will survive another 5 years.

We visited Macro yesterday. The big lady with blonde hair and a male dominant attitude was very rude and unhelpfulWe asked for the internet password completely unhelpful with an attitude problem- If you don?t like customer service get another job

Been coming for years and really like the place. Decent cash and carry. Don't have to pay the ridiculous fee for Costco or queue to get out like in Costco.Only complaint is the short opening hours.

Really bad customer service from front desk,I hadn?t used my card for over a year and there attitude?s was go online and re-registered and then come back,I explained I needed stuff urgently, they Relentlessly offered me a day pass.No pleases or thank you, no willingness in trying to help,Lady who was work there for years then turns to me and says I need you ID before you can enter. As if she was the police, no respect for customers what so ever,Don?t surprise me, not much competition in reading for makro, plus seems as if they find it difficult to find staff that appreciate there job.I think I?ll stick to costco, pay a little extra, have to carry and additional packaging, but at least a better service

Shop early before the midday plenty of space to browse the special offers I find the staff helpful ? it's a shame about the ramp out of the store with a full trolley.

Store has got worst though the years, there is no upstairs anymore, but staff friendly and offered free water as we walked in to the shop which was nice.Some items I still think are a little pricey.

Met the rudest staff with the lowest knowledge about customer service I know we going through pandemic doesn?t mean customer service is not required I?m sorry but the staff was not in the mood and acted like they didn?t wanted to be there.worst experience so far.

Staff?s level of customer service is absolutely disgraceful. Yes we r going through covid-19 but that doesn?t mean we should forget all about manners. Staff at checkout and reception fest is ever so rude. Costco is amazing at greeting their customers and other parts of service. Managment should take notice but they r no where to be seen.

Whilst I understand that everyone is on edge in the current situation, there are notices all over the store that rudeness to staff will not be tolerated, and rightly so. It's a huge shame that this isn't reflected in the way the security staff speak to the customers. My boyfriend was asked 'has she got a problem' when the security staff barked instructions at me with no please or thank you!! Yes..I have a problem with extremely rude staff!!!

The last time I came here you used to be able to shop upstairs for cloths etc and then stopped as Costco was opening. Came back today and upstairs is now closed. What a waste of space ? And I couldnâ??t believe how expensive this place is compared to Costco. Some products are literally over double the price of Costco. Donâ??t think I will be returning again and shall stay with Costco now.

I have found Makro well overpriced. Some goods they sell are 3 times more expensive then others.
