Update: Halfords customer service has been useless . I raised a complaint (26721549) and got an update that says garage did all the checks , but did paperwork only for one .This is clearly not the case as I was asked which one of the list I want done and was clearly told that its a policy to do only one per car . I did ask for proof that the work is done , but nothing was shared other than saying ? all checks were done , paperwork done only for one?. Please stay away from this shop
Went in with a booking for a series of free checks . I was concerned mainly about suspension since there was a noise coming from it. I added a few other free checks as I am taking the effort to drive 30+ miles to this garage as only they had immediate appointments available. I got confirmation from halfords that everything is booked in. Also, i had premium membership, so was looking to get it fixed with halfords once issue was identified.
On the day , the staff was a bit rude to begin with. They refused to do all the checks and told me there is a halford policy of one free check per car. If this is the case , then why I was able to book all 4 through website ? ( and never heard of such a policy. Customer service did not give me a clear answer as to whether such a policy exists or not) .When asking them again as to why i have an appointment that says otherwise, their reply was that it is ?too much paperwork for the same thing? and i have to pay and book in a 30 point check if i want to get all done. In the end , they said they will do only suspension.
I left the car with them for 3 hrs and got a report afterwards which says everything is fine with suspension ( the car is still making noise .. lol) . The report had photos of car exterior but no image of suspension itself . Did they even check it ( i have my doubts) . Planning to have it looked by another garage as clearly there is some issue with it.
Generally had good service from halfords , but not from this garage ? please stay away.

Went for a ?puncture back in May (tyre looked fine but the warning light kept coming on). When I collected my car I was told that the problem was not the tyre but the sensor which was changed. Unfortunately their machine to code the sensor had broke down and they couldn?t code it. I was asked to wait for 2 weeks as a new machine had been ordered. In the meantime a warning light was constantly on (as the sensor wasn?t coded). I called them after 3 weeks of silence and they still said the machine hadn?t arrived but they took down my details. I called after a month, still the same. It?s now been 3 months and I haven?t been contacted yet. I took my car to another garage who fixed the problem however I had to pay for inspection and changing/coding the sensor (the warning light is a no pass for MOT). I wish I had read the reviews before booking with them.

I have been talking my car to Halfords Autocentre for more than 20 years. My car is very old and I always receive expert help and advice. Everyone is always very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I wouldn?t go anywhere else.

Has this garage changed management recently?
I have been getting my car serviced here since 4 years but on the last occasion the customer desk wasnt friendly at all. I?ll not use this garage again.

I recently took my car to this garage for an MOT and a service that included changing the engine oil and the oil/air filters. After the service was completed, I noticed that my car wasn?t running smoothly. I initially couldn't identify the issue, but after taking it to another garage for inspection, I was informed that the engine oil had not been changed at all.
This is extremely disappointing and unacceptable. I trusted the this garage to carry out the agreed-upon services honestly and professionally, but that clearly did not happen.
Given this experience, I will not be returning to this garage.

Fantastic service by the staff. Car failed its expired MOT on a Friday and was needed on Monday afternoon. The staff were brilliant in squeezing the car in on Monday, fixing the problem and re doing the mot. Can't thank them enough

I had a MOT appointment which was booked 2 months ago in Halfords Reading.
2 days before the MOT appointment, Halford Reading called me and told me that they have to cancel the appointment. My car's MOT will be expired until their new availability in place. They refunded me.
This is unacceptable!!!

Friendly staff and quick service provided. Fell one star short because I had a tyre change as one of the services and there was still lubricant (red grease) on the alloys, which I had to clean when I got home, as well as the tyre didn't look like it was brand new (not polished).
