Queue of about twenty people. I was third in it. Stood for fifteen minutes while one boy wiped tiles under the counter while wearing earbuds, one stood at the sink with the cream squeezer, alternately holding up a bleeding finger to show the other two and washing the cream thingy out. Third boy was at the coffee machine but hardly moving. No one was taking orders. I asked if anyone was taking orders and the one at the machine shouted ? be quiet or I won?t serve you?. I?ll be contacting Costa head office tomorrow to report them. Appalling service. Also hygiene risk with blood dripping from the cut finger. £12 for three coffees. They were cold.

I know women are clever but using one of the row of urinals in the ladies is probably beyond most of us. Or are you planning a unisex experience where we can entertain ourselves while waiting for a cubicle by watching the men go. Not sure how they feel about it though. The Greggs (Where the coffee is cheap and very good) and M&S are the reason I regularly call at your eastbound services, shame I?ll stop elsewhere next time. By the way - ALL the women walking into the Ladies were horrified. This is a disgusting move on your part. Get ready for the complaints.

As we are well aware holiday people are always looking for rest and feeding. We stopped there today,ordered a KFC but because their booking machines ran out of purchase tickets it became a lottery to what you had ordered. I mentioned this to the staff on duty but it just got dismissed as if I was being a nuisance,so maybe others had a similar experience. Generally the place was clean and tidy.

I'm a truck driver and was forced to stop here by tacho regs. Only 2 showers when they need 10, both filthy, awash with dirty water, tiles missing and look like they havent been clraned since the place was built, curtains hanging off, drain covers not fixed down, sink surround hanging off. Disgusting. Waited 20 mins for kfc which was lukewarm when it eventually turned up. Surly, rude staff. Never coming back to this crap hole again.

Stopped of for a need break..popped into the lady's and what do I see man's loos on the wall, covered in black bags, I'm not very happy with this at All.a no no no should never be allowed, wrong on so many levels, I wish I'd talken a photo of it..how are the oldest lady going to cope with this..its horrible, I don't care if the woke won't it, what about the people that don't...

Stopped at the M4 Moto westbound services at 22:30 in need of coffee during a long trip. The only coffee station open was the one in the ?atrium? central part of the services ( not the more enclosed shop one). Anyway, the young man who served me needs major retraining in customer services?.or get a different job if he really doesn?t like what he?s doing! Not smiley, rude manner with the few syllables of conversation he had with me (more interested in chatting with his friends) and finished off by virtually chucking the receipt towards me when I requested one.

Called in for KFC on way home, order screen was very dirty, when order arrived (takeaway) and was opened in car. completely over cooked, messy and 11 chips! Put it straight in the bin without attempting to even taste it. The chicken was DARK brown. surely the timers on the fryers mean this can not be over cooked.

Burger King: I couldn?t find the type of drink I wanted with our meals from the automatic screens so I waited at a till (with a screen) to ask if I could order it. The staff plain ignored me (avoiding eye contact) for 10 minutes, until I called out to them. They said I was standing at the wrong (but identical) till. When I moved to the correct till they continued to ignore me for a further 5 minutes before serving me. WHSmiths: During the same visit my wife went to buy a drink from WHSmiths, there was a queue at the till (she was paying with cash) the second assistant was nearby but busying herself with shelf stacking. The customer in front of my wife had problems with paying and needed to put something back (the queue had got even longer by then) the second assistant disappeared through a door! In both cases the shops may have been understaff and the existing staff overworked, but they were demonstrating their frustration by being completely uncooperative.

Called at the East bound services. Waited at Costa counter 10 p.m. for ages. Eventually spotted 2 staff sitting out back just chatting. Asked if they were still serving and said closed at half past. Went back to counter and waited for nearly 10 minutes before giving up and going to Burger King to get a drink. They had almost finished and choice was limited. The Costa staff appeared just after 10.30 and then decided to serve another couple who had just arrived. The building generally looked uncared for and cleaning tables etc. almost non-existant. Won't be stopping here again out of choice!

Stopped for a coffee and snack. Sat at general table and was stunned that not once did I see staff with a disinfectant spray + cleaning cloth. Absolutely no effort whatsoever made to comply with country wide rules on hygiene. Tables sticky, crumbs all over - had to take our food outside but still fearful of the general standards. Our local cafes rush in to wipe and spray as soon as a party vacates. It's not rocket science.

I dont normally stop at service stations but I was held up because of a accident so called in to Reading moto East london direction . I called into WHS to buy a sandwich and was pleased to see a assistant cleaning shelves near the sandwich area . I was looking at the sandwiches and he politely asked if he could assist . I had got my sandwich when he explained the meal deal . What i liked was that although very enthusiastic and jolly he was never pushy . He walked in front to show me a more extensive range of drinks where he asked his colleague to show me the drink selection he was also polite Overall a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. After been served offered me discount voucher to costa which i was surprised how he was willing to explain how i use it as i thought originally i could get it from a high st costa. I decided after i got my drink i would send a message to your head office . I called back into smiths to get his name . So a big thank you to Ian for his pleasant greeting in hard times and his colleague. Unfortunately using the moto site was to much so had to use tripadvisor so hop they get this message.

Stopped here as two friends who had been on a long trip and were returning to separate locations. We spent quite a reasonable amount of money in the restaurant and coffee franchises. However, it was dark when we arrived and did not see any signs that say you are only allowed to have free parking for two hours. Given we were meeting up for first time in Level 1 conditions for sometime and because we had long journeys we did not rush our meeting. So, as well as spending money for meals, cold drinks and coffees we were slapped with a £200 bill (reduced to £120) for parking! Will not use these Services again and would recommend others to avoid. The site is tired and in need of an upgrade and with parking excesses like this far better to visit a pub or cafe. This approach helps substantiate an impression that Motorway Services exploit public who value convenience (if you need further evidence look at petrol prices they charge). A sad disgrace on road travelling facilities in Britain.

Coffee and food fine. But be warned not to stay too long! I had no idea before today that if you stay over 2 hours - they steal £100 from you!! Empty car park, empty services, mid- pandemic, I had a chat after eating with a friend, did a few messages on my phone. It takes about 7 mins to get in and out of the site. I stayed 2 hours and 7 mins apparently. Very angry to be fined £100 in the middle of a pandemic. How did some debt collectors get permission for this practice. I can see no reason at all for it. Never going back here again! ( rant over now )
