Fantastic games shop. Astonishing that such a well-stocked, hardcore board game store and venue exists in Reading of all places. The MTG days and board game socials are well worth attending.

Giving 3 stars because I?ve been many times and everyone is usually friendly and helpful.
Today however? I grabbed a couple of things and went straight to the counter and waited a little while the lady was sorting something. Then barely even looked up for the whole transaction. I said I?d never actually seen any pokemon 151 packs in real life, which she completely ignored. Finished the transaction and I said thank you, have a good day. Which she also completely ignored. Really poor service considering the store promotes a community for people who like games

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! Eclectic is the definition of a friendly local games shop: endlessly helpful and lovely people, a wide variety of products and events, and decent prices.
They're also moving premises soon, so they'll no doubt be even better equipped. We always come when we're free in Reading, and you should too!

Selling Prismatic Evolutions for £8 a pack which is pretty much market price instead of selling anywhere near RRP. In the last 12 months they almost never have Pokemon cards, I wouldnt be surprised if they back door/sell it on eBay instead to make more money. I got Destined Rivals pre order through them (1 triple pack blister) which was also above RRP. Taking advantage of the Pokemon hype for profit ?

Eclectic Games is one of the only places in Reading you can pick up fantastic minis, card games, boardgames and boardgame expansion. With a fantastic group of staff on deck to help you select the hottest items both fresh and legacy, this is a store you have to pay a visit to!

As a pokemon collector this shop is really disgraceful..If you collect Prismatic Evolutions you will know you cannot by single packs.Only boosters,poster collections triple blisters etc.Instead of selling what this shop buys they are selling individual packs for £8 a pack.Disgraceful practice I will be speaking to the owners!
