We sat outside in the hut with friends. It was my first time there. Me and my kids had the chicken burger, My husband had the beef one. HANDS DOWN THE BEST CHICKEN BURGER EVER. ! Service was good too.

Ice cold food but perhaps thats common for ploughman. The burger had hot sweet chili sauce in it but on the menue it just mentioned cheese and beef. They did not ask us about allergies.

This is a lovely pub with lots of atmosphere and character. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and attentive ... without being instrusive. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing on this occasion. I ordered rump steak (medium rare) and - whilst it had flavour - it was particularly tough and almost impossible to cut. This was the first time ever that I have had to leave steak on my plate! I mentioned this but nothing was really said in response and so I must assume that they were unconcerned?

Would just like to say a huge thank you to the Fox and Castle for giving us such a special wedding lunch! Camilla and Lucy went above and beyond for us, by setting up the tables and decorating them so well and by providing the very best service to us and our guests. The buffet was excellent, well presented and plenty of it. We really couldn't have asked for a better day and better service from the hard-working staff. An amazing wedding lunch experience. Highly recommended

Don't let the price fool you, The Fox & Castle is worth every penny. Portions are huge, the drinks are lovely, and the atmosphere is just beautiful. If you're hungry, you want lunch here. If you're looking for a pint, you'll find no shortage behind the bar. Very friendly staff, can't recommend enough
