After shelling a few thousand in books for my son from Waterstones during his 8 years of home education and beyond (he is 20 now), I am purchasing books for my own consumption. The type remains the same (an eclectic mix) because that is what I enjoy - mainly recommended by Rachel at this branch who has helped augment my son?s mind to be creative through the joy of reading, reading, reading! Bravo!?

We both love reading books and Waterstones is a great place to keep us topped up with great reading. Yes, Amazon may be cheaper but nothing beats a good browse through real books, making choices and leaving with 3 or 4 to read.

The staff are always very helpful here and the store had the book I was after (Stellar Maris by Cormac McCarthy) despite it being unavailable at the much larger Basingstoke store.

Not as good as the old shop in the high street, but it's clean, tidy, and full of books. Don't come here if you need your fix from that old books smell, only new books that smell more like chlorinated paper and arsenic ink
