Very clean and quiet, staff very helpful, no cooked breakfast but they do breakfast box to go, containing cornflakes with own bowl and spoon and milk, small bottle of water,
pain chocolate bun, oat flapjack.
There is a Starbucks next door and also McDoalds a short walk away, ample parking.

Stayed for 3 weeks, staff could not be more amazing. Special thanks to the younger girl working evenings

First impression wasn?t great due to a narcy female on front desk. Having travelled all day in peak holiday traffic from Cornwall, her attitude wasn?t appreciated. Our room was as expected (basic, clean) but there was no towel to use as a shower mat and we had to request toilet paper as there was barely any left. We also paid £7 for WiFi (for 2 of us), which was constantly dropping out. The man on reception this morning was very pleasant and helpful though. The hotel?s location was also good ? with easy access from the main route and plenty of parking spaces and amenities, including Starbucks, McDonald?s and a petrol station.

We stayed here overnight as we were visiting Highclere for the Battle Proms - very convenient! The rooms were basic but comfortable (as you expect from a Travelodge). However, during the night the front number plate on our car was stolen while in the car park - not the hotel's fault, but perhaps indicative of what you can expect at this sort of location.

Average travelodge

No fridge. Rooms are a decent size. No reception so they sell you WiFi just to gouge you. Entryway smells like all Travelodges, like damp and ass, hallway smelled of paint, room smelt of drains.

I?m very disappointed from the action that happens ..
I was living for two weeks and 2 day before I leave the cleaners probably enter my room and stole my half clothes.
I had one adidas top that it was a gift .
Only that I care nothing else .
Also I found long blonde hair inside my clothes in my luggage..
So people watch out the cleaners !!!
I?m really sorry but never again travelodge.

As already noted, staff VERY friendly and helpful. We checked in at 10:30pm and all was speedy and efficient.
Basic rooms, but clean and nice. Bathroom a little disappointing.
Local Starbucks, McDonald's and small supermarket shop at the garage on this site.
GREAT for a stopover.
Leaving was also very fast and efficient. Thank you

Stayed here twice in one week, first stay was great however 2nd one wasn't good, had a room that didn't have a plug for the bath, went to reception to ask for one they didn't so moved us rooms, this one had a plug however there was crumbs around the room, toilet wasn't clean, sink was dirty. Me and my partner had done a 32 mile round trip and just wanted a relaxing bath and sleep, couldn't even lay in the bath as they are very small.

Travelodge Tothill, Newbury ? Not Quite Downton, But Does the Job
? A34 Tothill Services, Newbury
? Comments: If the Crawleys had to rough it for a night, this might be their version of ?going off-grid.? A warm welcome awaits, the rooms are clean and modern, and it?s superbly placed for a Downton Abbey pilgrimage to Highclere Castle. Just don?t expect aristocratic luxuries?your dining options are strictly McDonald?s or Starbucks. And as for the WiFi & 5G in the area! Let?s just say Lady Violet?s telegrams would get through faster.

Quiet, tidy and comfortable room. Very good value for money.
It is a no-frills Travel Lodge, but there is a McDonalds and Starbucks next door and a small shop in the nearby garage.
I was told there might be a problem with water pressure due to local water works but didn't experience any issues.
I would happily stay there again.

Very good value for money, £66 for 2 people for 2 nights. Close proximity to Starbucks and McDonalds. The Travelodge doesn't have a breakfast facility but you can order a breakfast box that is good for a quick breakfast, with a kettle in the room. Beds are a little skinny but good quality. Bathroom has good accessibility with many handrails for disabled access.
