Room was cold and the quilt was thin.
It was also noisy as it sounded like they were dragging tables underneath my room, obviously setting a room up for the next day, but why do it in the middle of the night?
Bar staff and evening staff were good a d the food was excellent. Breakfast service was poor, staff spent most of their time chatting amongst themselves, nobody asked if we wanted a cooked breakfast and the buffet resembled something out of a seaside B & B.
Overall, not worth the cost.

Disappointing Experience ? Would Not Recommend for Weddings
My partner and I initially fell in love with The Vineyard Hotel?the setting was beautiful, and the staff seemed lovely. We decided to book our wedding there, paying a £5,000 deposit and preparing to spend nearly £20,000 for what we expected to be a premium experience. Unfortunately, the service we received from the wedding coordinator, Charlotte, was far from what we anticipated.
From the start, it was evident that she lacked the maturity and professionalism expected at this level. During a meeting with the chef and Charlotte, I asked reasonable questions about the menu, such as whether we could sample items from the lunch buffet that would be served to our guests. I was told no. However, when my husband asked the same question, they agreed?this inconsistency was frustrating and unprofessional.
Beyond that, Charlotte?s attitude was, at times, even sassy. As someone who has experienced exceptional service at many high-end hotels, I found her approach completely unacceptable. It became clear that we would not receive the high-quality service we were paying for, so we made the difficult decision to withdraw from our contract. Thankfully, as we were still within our legal rights, our deposit was refunded.
If you?re considering The Vineyard Hotel for your wedding, I strongly recommend reconsidering. A beautiful venue means nothing if the service doesn?t match.

On arrival we were met with warmth that remained throughout our short stay. The rooms were ready ahead of the official check in time which was a bonus and we quickly dumped our bags and headed for lunch. Fish and chips, a rare roast beef sandwich and macaroni cheese were all enjoyed with a fresh bottle of the house white.
After a quick change, we then headed to the spa which was a little underwhelming. It was incredibly warm and felt somewhat dated. The circular pool is totally impractical for anybody actually wanting to swim and the two levels made it feel as if there was somewhat of a viewing gallery (the last thing I would want when in swimwear!) Regardless we enjoyed a dip and a jacuzzi and were able to enjoy a good catch up.
The rooms were spacious (as were the bathrooms) and very comfortable and had everything you could need from toiletries, to a coffee machine to bathrobes and slippers. The decor wasn?t to my taste and again felt a little dated but it didn?t detract from how comfortable it all was.
Drinks and dinner followed and the food was fantastic (the trout and venison being particularly highlights). We had a deal with our room that included £50 towards dinner (although we managed to spend considerably more) and money off any chosen bottle on the wine list which was a wonderful opportunity to order something that we wouldn?t ordinarily choose. The wine list is extensive and with a broad range of prices which made it accessible to all.
Breakfast was relaxed and delicious with plenty of warm options to cater to all tastes. The scrambled eggs were some of the best I?ve ever had and all of it was accompanied by the warmest service.!
The hotel overall is nice but has a business vibe and although it didn?t disturb us is very close to the main road with limited grounds. The service is a real strength as is the food and if you?re a wine enthusiast then this is a great place to explore the cellar!
Rooms: Very spacious and comfortable
Food and drinks: High quality dishes in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and a very extensive and appealing wine list.

Went for an afternoon tea. Not great. Dry bread sandwiches were a grave disappointment. Everything else was OK but the dinning room was cold and lacking any ambience/ fire / music. Bar staff on mobile phone loud speaker. Staff unattentive yet a tip is automatically added to your bill. Disappointing.

My daughter tried to get married af Vinyard hotel. Wedding organiser Charlotte was very difficult person to talk. After she met Charlotte 3rd time, my daughter was crying. Charlotte try to control, rather than helping.Charlotte is not professional. My daughter said I love the place mum, I can't talk to Charlotte. It's not Wedding venue without a professional wedding planner.

Nice rooms and wine, but spam left a bitter taste.
Stayed in October for a present, food and wine was a good experience, but a few weeks later, I received both a phone call and email pushing me to sign me up for their Vine Club.
I never at any point gave consent for my details to be used for sales/marketing, so this apparent misuse of personal information was disappointing.
The response to the complaint was also underwhelming, saying that they could do this as I had "shown interest," whereas I'd never even heard of this club, never mind shown any interest.
Then, to add insult to injury, said they "regret it wasn't made clearer to me," and there may have been a "misunderstanding" which comes across as a non-apology/blaming the customer- no other place I've stayed/eaten had assumed they can sign me up to mailings lists for other products just because I stayed there once, and at no time did I give consent for my data to be used this way.
Overall, it is sad, as the stay was generally good (except maybe at the spa, where it would have been useful to be told we needed keys for the lockers, _before_ we went downstairs to them and have to come back up again) but the unsolicited marketing left a sour aftertaste

Just back from a fabulous overnight stay at The Vineyard for husband's birthday. First time visiting and it was wonderful. Staff could not have been more welcoming, spa was lovely as was the food and wine. We even got a room upgrade which was a very pleasant surprise as was the little finishing touches for his birthday. Thanks again, we highly recommend.

We had a fantastic time Saturday in the tasting room at the Vineyard.
It was our 6th year wedding anniversary and it didn?t disappoint, the staff were welcoming, knowledgeable and made the experience really special.
The food was outstanding, every course on the tasting menu along with the wine pairings were superb.
Huge thank you to the chef and all the staff and we look forward to returning again.

The Vineyard Restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience, blending fine cuisine with stunning views, warm hospitality, and an impressive wine selection. Located amidst picturesque surroundings, it provides a serene atmosphere perfect for a special day out. The restaurant?s ambiance is both elegant and relaxed, making it ideal for intimate dinners or gatherings with friends.
One of the standout features is the expertly curated wine pairings. Each dish is accompanied by a wine that perfectly complements the flavors, making it a must-visit for wine enthusiasts. Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur or simply enjoy a good glass of wine, the pairing enhances every bite and takes your meal to the next level.
We started with two delectable mains: the Lamb Kofta and Fine Herb Gnocchi. The lamb was tender, perfectly spiced, and paired with a robust red wine that deepened the flavors. The Gnocchi, on the other hand, was light, delicate, and bursting with freshness, beautifully matched with a crisp white wine.
The combination of fresh ingredients and well-thought-out pairings truly makes every dish memorable.
To finish, we indulged in the Raspberry and Lemon Panna Cotta, which was a delightful end to the meal. The tangy lemon and sweet raspberry created a refreshing balance, leaving us feeling satisfied but not overly full.
The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who made us feel 'looked after'.

We used the venue for a business meeting recently, and it was exceptional, from the location, the service, the food. I wanted a room that was a step away from the normal corporate environment, and it was perfect. Nice comfy big armchairs - we were able to have the doors open to a small private courtyard, enjoying the fresh air rather than just aircon. The communications from the events team were spot on - and they couldn't do enough to ensure our event ran smoothly and efficiently. The snacks/lunch/afternoon cake as part of the package were delicious. I've ran many work events over a long career - and I honestly can't recommend The Vineyard highly enough. Thank you to all the staff.

We stayed for a night and used the spa and had the tasting menu with paired wines in the tasting room in the evening.
Service is outstanding at this place throughout our stay.
The tasting menu was incredible and meeting the chef and having a sommelier explain all the wines made it a really good experience.

Overall really good hotel. What let it down is the rude and arrogant spa worker called Annie.

Afternoon tea could be improved the service was something to be questioned when paying £45 a head, the man serving us at the beginning was knowledgable but we were then left to fend for ourselves with only top up of teapots not fresh tea which I think for the price could of been done without asking, had to ask for more jam when cream at the bar to then receive lots of pots of it but with only two scones left so just think the intuition was lacking. For a four star hotel I?d expect an attentive experience that could be improved with training.
