Standard Premier Inn, though location is good. Was busy! Had an issue booking in, but staff sorted it, (after some prompting).

Used to visit for breakfast as it's local and really nice. They have now decided to charge for parking. As with a lot of others I will no longer return or use Premier hotels for future trips.

The rooms were very clean, and the staff were really friendly. The restaurant was very slow, ad they were under staffed and the quality of the food wasn't that good.

a regular monthly stay over with easy access to my college in Abingdon. consistent high quality expected of a Premier Inn but the unique aspect of this one in Newbury is that it's nestled inside some bushes and has its own private open field, the perfect setting for a nice drink and snack in the setting sun-- feels like you're in the country. breakfast staff Jane, Michelle, Charley and Jess are amazing-- genuine and pleasant

Arrived 11.45am Tuesday and paid for early checking from 11am. No one on reception but lady came out of office and asked for our name. Seemed bit inconvenienced that we were there early and said she will find out about early room. We sat for 10.mjns while she amd another went in and out to office before finally being told they were having to juggle rooms about to accommodate us..... we got into our room 20 minutes later. No welcome or advice on breakfast just key and room number. Room was good size and clean.
We stayed here for Newbury racecourse and was 15 mins drive from hotel. Uber is a no go and I was held looking for driver for 30 mins before calling another off Google. There is a recommended one in reception though. Breakfast was nice, quiet at 9am was good. Water in reception didnt taste great and i did suffer from upset stomach later on so wouldnt recommend helping self to a glass. Tesco close by and some retail shops all walkable distance too. I feel the staff and service from check in let the hotel down on this occasion and unsure if would return.

We stayed in Room 42 on 10/07. Unfortunately it was one of the hottest days of the year so far but the air conditioning wasn't working in the room such that it was hotter in the room than in the corridor. Gina was great on reception as were the two ladies that came with a replacement fan. However, Donnie was extremely helpful in both verifying in person that the air conditioning wasn't working and logging it into the system (this was because I explained a year ago I had a similar aircon problem and the engineer fixed the problem but denied the problem existed - internal politics in Premier Inn I think). Because of that Donnie went above and beyond to ensure I could see the problem was properly logged with his verification of the problem. Thank you. The hotel itself is very nice and the design is very welcoming, but it's designed in a way that maximises walking distance from the car to the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel was great the next day. Parking for £3 overnight is straightforward and smooth to register for. Very good facilities nearby.

Stayed over three nights. Free car parking just ensure you pop your car registration and the tablet at reception. Room was clean and suitable for the price I paid. Plenty of tea and coffee available at reception should you run out in your room. My only issue was The limescale in the kettle. This does need cleaning as I ended up with sediments in my drink.
Downfalls of this hotel are the staff are rushed off their feet. They do reception, waiting on, bar work, essentially everything. I felt sorry for them as you could tell on their faces that they were not happy.
We ate breakfast on two of the mornings. I did feel it wasn?t worth the money. Everything is just cheap. First morning they didn?t put the buffet on as there was not enough customers staying in the hotel. So you ordered what you wanted and this was prepared for you. This actually was the better out of the two mornings as the food was fresher. The second morning was the buffet, but the food had obviously been there awhile and was very dried out.
On our first evening we ate in the restaurant. This was our biggest mistake. It is just cheap food and we had to ask for some of our food to be replaced as it was very overcooked.
Overall, I have given this hotel of 4 out of 5 stars. It is ideal if you are wanting a comfortable bed for the night and a base for your travels. I wouldn?t advise eating in the restaurant. There was a pub only two minutes away which we ate in and it was fabulous.
