What a stunning property. The car park, the building, the garden. All such wow factors of this stunning pub. However I cant give it 5 stars as I wasn't crazy about how slow our starters came out. It took 40 mins for a soup and calamari and then being asked if we ordered mains. I wouldn't have minded but it really was not busy for a Friday night. My partner and I both ordered steak which was very much enjoyed. My last and final moan it was a beautiful summers evening and as soon as it turned dark we could not enjoy our meals as we could not see them it was completely pitch black and such a health and safety issue. If we wanted to go in and use the toilet.

These comments relate to restaurant & are directed at the Manager. Compared to our last visit the table service was not at all good with the staff showing they had not received good training. We will only to gladly detail our experience if you are interested in hearing about it. There were 4 of us & we all agreed the service was not good so had the service charge reversed. Obviously a loss to the staff. Please let me know if you are interested in hearing our comments.

Great atmosphere with lovelly rooms and the staff throughout were great. Very polite, helpful and helped make our stay a lovely experience. We will definitely visit again.

A little disappointed. Booked for lunch for birthday celebration. Waited over an hour yesterday for food to arrive. Not ideal with young children. We thought for the price the food wasn't the standard we expected either and menu was
quite limited.

As an example of how good the Crab & Boar is, after our initial stay, I found I needed to be back in the area next week. I had no hesitation booking here again immediately. Rooms are very comfortable and the food was outstanding as was the service. Plus dog friendly?.they loved the room with its own secure garden. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We were a large party of 12 but we had excellent service from the lovely staff at the Crab and Boar. We had pre-ordered but the staff were still able to accommodate on-the-day changes which was very much appreciated. Everyone's food was perfection - everything we'd hoped for at a special family reunion

Lovely pub in a lovely setting, large carpark with disabled parking. Friendly staff. Lovely food.

We had a lovely stay. The staff were welcoming and polite who couldn't do enough for us.
The evening meal was perfect, food lovely, service great, view from our table over the countryside 5 stars.
There's plenty of parking.
We stayed one night and would definitely recommend the crab & Boar for a stay or a meal.

We came here for lunch on a great recommendation, sadly this was not reflected in our experience. We had Sunday lunch today and were extremely disappointed. The roast potatoes were hard and rubbery, chicken and beef were tasteless accompanied by a couple of slithers of carrot, burnt parsnip and cabbage which was the tastiest part. The chicken stuffing was wrapped in rubbery bacon with a lot of sausage rather than the sage and onion stuffing as per the menu.
We decided to have a pudding but this was also disappointing with the frangipanis apple tart pastry being tough with virtually no almond or apples! My sister in law has the chocolate pudding- ok but the same sauce as the apple tart and my affogato ice cream looked split. It?s a shame as the location was perfect for us to meet up- just let down by the food! Not sure we?ll be returning any time soon sadly!

We booked online for Sunday lunch for 4 which was ok, not amazing.
The service was ok but smiling was obviously extra for some staff.
A beautiful venue, we were very much looking forward to a wonderful meal. We were a little disappointed.
The table was sticky and needed a good clean, it wasn't a level surface and our plates rocked as we ate; providing placemats would have helped alleviate this.
My drink a Hugo Spritz had to be returned as it was basically soda water, no taste of Elderflower or gin, the 2nd was better but not great.
The beef tasty but quite chewy.
We all had the Frangipane tart for desert, which was pleasant but no almond flavour to it, the ice cream was delicious though. We needed forks as well as a spoon in order to eat it without chasing it around the plate.
Our standard may be high but all of these factors could be rectified quite easily.
One last annoyance was that the optional service charge was already entered into the card machine, meaning we would have to ask for it to be removed, making this an awkward experience.
