I have been coming to this Toby for many years and have felt it?s not all it seems. Staff do not particularly seem motivated nor bothered about service. I can fully appreciate it?s a fast paced environment however, staff should be attentive. Anyway my main gripe is how ?filthy? the restaurant is. I am a Head Housekeeper and I have a keen eye for the little things but the picture below is obvious. I cannot believe the dust and dirt in a facility that serves food. The Disabled Toilet was grubby and in need of a deep clean. I highly recommend that a Deep Clean takes place sooner rather than later !

I really love coming here for a treat! The staff are always nice and the seats you get are normally quite good. Sometimes they can be too close to other people and cramped. They can be a smidge stingy with the meat but everything else is always nice. I love the beef and the dripping potatoes a lot!

Went for breakfast on Sunday, food was decent, pretty standard for Toby Carvary, fair selection for a greasy breakfast. The guy behind the bar wasn't particularly polite or friendly or welcoming, he served us as if we were an inconvenience and just seemed almost annoyed that we'd even bothered to come.

No meat option took an hour to arrive at my table , I had already eaten my veg and potatoes that was cold . Absolutely despise cold food . The staff were rushed off their feet and everyone was complaining about the food .
Vegetarian options: Good choice if it arrived on time

Always good food at fair prices here. The drinks service can be a bit hit and miss when busy, but the staff are alwats very friendly and good at their jobs.

Perfect place for a roast! I wouldn't recommend if you have someone in your party looking for variety on the menu, but the roast is excellent.

Went for breakfast at Stafferton Lodge carvery this morning, firstly there is the managers dog roaming the floor with a saliva filled ball pushing it in your lap and hands while your trying to eat. Secondly Breakfast food was not hot and poorly replenished, plus you feel you are being watched if you take too much, not pleasant atmosphere.

The service was frankly awful. Unstaffed. Not enough care paid at all. Waited over 20 minutes for gravy to be replaced, told repeatedly it would be out in just a minute. When it was brought out it was thin and watery, not at the famous gravy.
Our children (4-10) were not offered anything to keep them occupied.
Service was so bad we skipped dessert because we were left sitting for too long. We got up to leave and most of our party left and I had to find a Member of staff to pay, ultimately going to the bar to pay. It was a terrible experience.
Kid-friendliness: Nothing for the children to do unfortunately

Went this afternoon. Food was nice. Shame the waitresses never smiled and not a warm welcoming. Had to asked to have our plates, cleared
even though they took our dessert orders, beforehand and had to see where our desserts were too

Sadly I went in this place ,I have drove past for the last 15 years and always wondered what it is like sadly I found out yesterday it was an insult to the food industry!!!! The beef was vile tough and couldn?t be eaten I asked the chef time 4.55 to cut it thin he could not of cut it thicker if he had put the whole joint on my plate . The staff were sat around in the bar area like it was there private living room on phones laptops and one of the chefs who was obviously on a break stared at us while we were trying to eat our cold stale food ,you need to re train staff and your cooks and deep clean the place we left all our food on the bar area and walked out my nephew is 13 and when a child says please I don?t want to eat this , something is definitely wrong , first and last visit I?m sure that Toby will continue to serve this inadequate food and catch a lot more people out before they see that running a good restaurant pays dividends!!!!!
Update on my review they left a message that said sorry to hear about you experience and take the time to tell us ,bog standard reply give us feedback to help in the future there is no future sort your restaurant out !!! Start with food thst is fit to eat your food was not up to standard and train your staff !!!!! Read your reviews
And clean the place up it?s scruffy to say the least
