This is a review of the restaurant as I did not stay at the hotel. For £275 you are served three small canapés, a tiny sliver of fish crudo, a minuscule cup of (admittedly very good) Devon crab, a small slab of properly cooked though unimaginative foie gras, an overcooked scallop with an excessively buttery sauce, a small lamb chop that I might have had in dozens of pubs before, a small piece of cheese with undressed microgreens, and a raspberry soufflé - which in fairness was practically perfect
The bread service was as quotidian as bread services could possibly get at a Michelin temple. The sommelier was surly when I opted not to go for a Coravin-facilitated glass of Petrus.
So what was good? The setting with its beautiful Thames view and the aforementioned soufflé - which while expertly prepared can hardly be considered cutting edge.
I had hoped that the Waterside Inn would be a good consolation for my inability to snag a table at fellow Bray 3-star The Fat Duck. But as my experience bore out, there is a reason why there is widespread availability chez Mr Roux but none whatsoever Chez Mr Blumenthal
I emerged from today?s lunch quite confused about the Waterside Inn?s position at the top tier of British Michelin temples. This stickiness enjoyed by previously great institutions at the top of the Michelin world is one of Michelin?s main weaknesses.
I can only hope Michelin takes some action to prevent diners like myself from dropping £500 on such a disappointing experience

Should be rated 10/10. Service, food, environment, facilities, vibes, everything was amazing. Would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone. Staff were incredible!!!

Beautiful setting with exceptional service in the restaurant. Valet parking for restaurant patrons in a nice touch. Food was top notch, and they were happy to accommodate my wife's and I's dietary requirements on the tasting menu.
