We went here for Sunday lunch but although the food was tasty a few things we experienced which I hope helps -
- Roasts - only options were pork and beef (over £27!), no chicken or vegetarian options and never offer chicken apparently. This we were surprised at because not everyone is that keen on red meat (including me) and love a roast but would rather chicken or vegetarian option
- Over priced. I think this is the most expensive roast I have ever seen on a menu
- Serving size of the roasts could have been bigger really especially given the price
- Roasts - lukewarm
- Only 3 x small roast potatoes included
- Lime and sodas £3.50!
- Waiting time from ordering to receiving the mains were long
- Sausage and mash £18.00 and rather small, more of a children?s portion. For the price one would expect either a bigger portion or some greens to be included
We felt it was rather disappointing, however the carrots and red cabbage were especially delicious. The beef was soft and it was tasty but very overpriced.

As a rare treat I brought my family for Sunday lunch, which we had all been looking forward to. We left thoroughly underwhelmed. The service was prompt which we appreciated. The menu was limited and contradictory; 8 main meals online, 6 in reality. I love a nice roast (as you are about to find out), but I didn't go for it as only 2 veg were listed online and none were listed on the physical menu. In the event, my partner ordered the roast and it came with a just-about-acceptable 3 veg, which was a bit galling for me. As there were so few options I went for the meal most onerous to make at home; fish and chips (stinks init). I regretted it. Even my work canteen does it better and that's the first time I've bigged up the work canteen (and probably the last). The oven chips were horrid - I say oven because who in their right mind would hand make chips to be exactly like oven chips? See you never.

Lovely pub and friendly staff. Food was good and reasonably priced for the location. Would return

Went to bed with growling stomach, spent the night unwell. Poor food, slow, dirty, very sub standard unfortunately. Many better places in the area

Popped into the Crown for a zero alchohol pint after a meeting in the parish hall opposite. Nice beer. Decent, friendly attentive staff.

£4.50 for a slice of garlic bread is honestly taking the mick. I ordered the crown burger and sadly, I did not enjoy it. It was burnt and the bitter taste spoiled everything else. Was not worth nearly £20. My children had the same and left more than half as it was just really really not nice. The pub is really nice and cute, staff nice, but the food, for the price, not worth it.

Overpriced and stingy portions.
My girlfriend ordered a veggie option and for £20 received 2 carrots and a bit of kale.
I ordered the burger - the bun was overcooked, burger was overcooked and the raclette slice was so small that it might as well have not been in there.
Thorough disappointment.
The venue itself was the best part, but stingy food portions, overpriced menu and staff not solving our issues adequately means I would not recommend unless you just don't care.

Nice old pub, food is quite good but also quite pricey.

Nice place, friendly barman but 55 mins for a very standard burger that was served with a burnt bun. Not impressed.

Started off walking into a 16th Century building with a lot of history on the walls of the building. Staff was very welcoming as we entered.
We started off with the prawn cocktail what was amazing and well portioned. For our mains we both had the Fish and Chips, the fish was outstanding and the batter was just right. The sticky toffee pudding was the best i have ever tasted. Overall was an amazing lunch and will be returning soon.

Huge pot hole on entrance to car park. Been like that for a very long time. Now filled with rain water. Just looks like a puddle.

Went on a Thursday evening in August for a meal. Staff were lovely, bright and friendly. Had a snack of Pork Croquettes, Nduja & Parmesan along with some Bread & Butter. The Pork Croquettes were very tasty. However the Bread & Butter could have been a touch fresher.
Followed up with a very moorish prawn cocktail that had all the right flavours.
My partner had the fish & chips for her main, which she thought was overseasoned for her taste, whilst I had the Flat Iron Steak which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Finished the meal with a couple of Expresso Martinis which can only be described as divine.
All in all a nice meal, but overpriced for the delivered quality
