1st Review:
Automatically charge for substitute items at checkout but do not EVER provide substitute items & do not EVER provide any communication to let you know that the item is not avaliable. You only find out when you recieve the delivery & open the bag/s.
Online it shows an out of stock item as in stock even after opting out of being shown out of stock items while browsing.
For eg: Soooo I have the sandwich ingredients but I do not have any bread (bread shown as in stock) so we can not actually make the sandwiches.
So there was no other bread on the shelf? Come on now.
Also, where is the toilet roll that I ordered? so I'm supposed to believe that there was no other toilet roll on the shelves to substitute what I initially ordered. Come on now.
Please note:
I now have to arrange for someone to go to a shop to purchase bread & toilet roll (I have no toilet roll to use, at all).
The whole point of me placing the order online is because I have recently come out of hospital after having surgery & can not actually go to a shop.
On a more positive note, ordering was straightforward without having to register details first, so shoppers can check out as a guest.
Delivery arrived in good time.
I have given two stars for these two positive points.
However, the positives that I have mentioned above are nowhere near enough to outweigh the inconvenience that I have also mentioned above.
Co-op, Shifford Crescent, Maidenhead...sort it out & quickly. Do better please.
2nd Review:
It is now a few days later since I left my first review. It is 27th January 2025. This time I ordered 5 Beef Steaks to feed a family. I recieved 1 Beef Steak. Paid the automatically charged substition fee (as mentioned in my first review) but I did not recieve a substitute item.
I called Co-op, Shifford Crescent, Maidenhead. I was told that the item that I ordered was not in stock so it could not be sent. THAT'S WHY YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO PROVIDE A SUBSTITUTE CO-OP. Hence why it's called a substitute.
I need not repeat anymore because my experience was the same as mentioned above in the 1st review.
1 star this time.

Very good place to shop as plenty of choice of goods, very helpful staff and nearby parking. My elderly mother uses it a lot more now as she no longer drives a car and she loves it as well for the good products and the extra helpful staff.

really fed up. Visited this store Sat 20th April and bought bread and milk. The milk had use by date 30 th but was curdled yesterday 24 th so had to drive back to the store to get replacement. Today the bread has mould on it ( use by date is today but already has mould on it)..... Not worth cost of petrol AGAIN to return it. Trying to make a complaint online is ridiculous. Won't be using Coop again !!
update.... the replacement milk was off yesterday !!!! it had use by date of 6th May
