Great experience at the Blue Ball today. Lovely roast dinner, great sized portions for adults and kids meals. The potatoes were especially delicious. Emma's team are attentive and friendly. We could not have wished for a nicer Father's day lunch. Great space for the kids to run around and play and generally a great atmosphere.

After years of premature openings and closures since the lockdown the Blue Ball has finally reopened under Emma's capable management.
The staff are attentive and helpful. There is a wide range of good beers and wines at affordable prices. The pizzas have returned, along with other solid pub food (also affordable).
Best of all we have our village pub back! The atmosphere has returned, along with the pub regulars and children playing in the garden amongst their families.

Quiet areas and family areas, lovely huge garden space too. New owners doing a great job moving away from Thai offering a more traditional yet modern take British pub menu IMO. Good value well cooked local produce - again a good strategy to entice people in regularly. Staff helpful and attentive. Well done and good luck.

A down-to-earth local boozer, as of April 2025, operating 'Under New Management'.
The turnaround is comprehensive: The bar has a decent range of ales, lagers and ciders on draft and in bottles. In a pleasing roll of the dice, we found the kitchen is turning out really munchable pub grub. This reboot is clearly outperforming similar efforts over the previous decade. Long live the Blue Ball!

I didn't eat, but it had a really nice atmosphere, and the owners were just lovely. I would highly recommend 5 star.

Friendly, relaxed atmosphere and great Thai food. We had the vegan pad Thai and vegan yellow curry with rice. We both loved it. Its very close to Kintbury train station, so if you're ever passing, stop by for a pint and some lovely food.

Fascinating old building, but the Thai food was *amazing*! We have missed our favourite authentic Thai restaurant (The Pho Factory, Lincoln Nebraska) from home for the last two years, and the food we had here today (Pad Thai tofu and yellow curry tofu) were so tasty and so much like our old favourites it made us very happy. If we lived in the area, we would eat there often. I hunted down the chef to thank him for the delicious food (made vegan, no less!), and he was very gracious. I wish the business the utmost success.

Superb food service and excellent experience . We arrived on spec at lunchtime on Sunday, we're a party of 10 with specific food allergies and they could not have been more helpful and accomodating. Wonderful food from an extensive menu. Thank you for a fantastic family lunch. The Good family.

If you?re looking for a family run (management/staff) local pub in the heart of the community then this is the place! Darts, pool, garden, climbing frame and service with a smile! Proper pub with fair prices.
