When we arrived we were seated in a clear pathway to one of two external doors and less than a metre from the coffee machine. Once seated I asked for a child's menu (as I'd previously emailed requesting if the Mothers day event would cater for children with no response).Starter was disappointing, 2 thin slices of sourdough with a medium ish serving of mostly mayonnaise smoked salmon pate. When I recieved my main of beef roast there was an inch long black hair within my meal. The meal was returned and a fresh one delivered however it took 10 minutes and everyone else in the meal had already finished. Desert was a highlight, however it was served with a soup spoon which didn't fit the cheesecake pot.When paying, I believed the restaurant had taken one of the mains off the bill (which I would have expect having found a hair within the food) but it was only due to the fact I had paid the £40 up front booking fee which was taken away. All in all a very disappointing meal especially for a reasonably large cost. Also a small gesture of 50p worth of daffodils for the mother's at the table was pointless especially when you've sat through the whole meal watching them in the empty paint tin by the coffee point.More than happy to dicuss this feedback with anyone at the Cobbs team as we have had the pleasure of eating brunch with you on multiple occasions with no fault.

Having to queue to be seated when the room was far from full and then queue to pay when we left was not the best. Toasted tea cake came barely toasted and cold, pricey too. Couldn't help noticing that the floors under the tables were very dirty. ( not day to day crumbs but good old fashioned dust and dirt)

Had afternoon tea today? very slow service? table booked for 1:30, we arrived 5 minutes early but had to chase our food at 2:10?. We were not offered top up of tea and had to ask for everything. I felt the staff whilst pleasant just aren?t trained in the art of service? they are reactive rather than proactive.Sandwich?s were very average , as were the scones and cakes. All in all very moderate which is a shame as previous visits have been good.

Called in today having been told it's such a lovely place, I think not!! Cramped shop with over-priced goods, cakes open to flies (and fingers), we did buy a chicken roasting joint, but thinking about it afterwards, he didn't wear gloves..... Hope we're ok tomorrow!!! Decided to try the restaurant, usually do a recky but got pounced on by an aggressive 'door lady' asking if we'd booked, said we hadn't but they did accommodate us only to be told we had to be out by a certain time - 1 1/2 hours, quite enough for just two people. That's not the end of it, after our order was taken we waited, and waited, watching a customer get her coffee and a second cup, a group of three women sat down and got their coffee AND a second cup, the last straw was when an elderly couple sat on the next table and before their chairs got warm got their coffee. I then asked the waiter we were still waiting, another waitress came out and said our order got lost/mis-laid or the like because of a large table had ordered at the same time, she did apologise and said the coffee would be straight out, not quite so, so we left feeling quite disgruntled before even getting anything, we weren't even approached on the way out - we could've left without paying for all they knew - definitely not going there again.

We were a party of 6, seated quickly, the lady who served us was lovely. The menu choice was limited though think they missing a trick with no burgers on the menu and unfortunately the lamb had run out, which seemed a bit weird as the butcher was right there. But we enjoyed the lunch. Coffees weregreat and milkshakes yummy. Absolutely love Cobbs, the whole farm shop is nicely set out and staff friendly.

What a great place really fantastic choices and high quality foodstuffs and great variety at good prices. Fabulous cafe/ restaurant with food from all local produce. Bought some cheddar to die for
