A great little village pub. We were there when the European championship football was on, with England playing, yet still we had no trouble getting a table for a nice pub meal and a few drinks. We visited on a Wednesday night and will return.

The food was a shambles paid for a mixed grill to be told after no steaks left and paid for a cheese and crackers guess what no crackers and the cheese was laughable i slice of blue and a massive nlock of chedder really poor if u ask me wont be going back again absolutly not even if u paid me !!!!

We went to The Stag for lunch with family, on the 3rd Dec. While everyone else, apart from the little neices, had the roast, which they all enjoyed, my Husband and I had pre booked the Christmas Menu. We both enjoyed our starters. He had the Korean Chicken, while I opted for Smoked Salmon with cream cheese. For the main my Husband relished the Lamb Shank. I had the Goats Cheese tart, served a bit collapsed, but that and the chips were nice, but I should have asked for a dressing for the dry salad. For the main he had a cheeseboard and also finished a niece's chocolate cheesecake with ice cream, called a Lumpy Bumpy! The rum and raisin ice cream I ordered wasn't available, it being too early in December, so I was asked to order from the regular menu. I opted for Apple and Blackberry Crumble, with custard, though I didn't find any blackberries. Nice local ales though.

Has a Sunday Roast. Was exceptional. Very generous with meat & vegetables. Really good value. Can certainly recommend The Stag.
