It's a proper old fashioned local done well with no fancy bits or food (although Keith, the owner, lays on a free Sunday lunch buffet! ). It's also the cheapest round for miles.

I didn't have food so can't comment on that.Very friendly pub with lots of friendly locals.We had a couple of drinks and the bar service was ok.The landlord is a very nice man.Relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.Will definitely go back when in the area.

This was a meal of two halves. The starter was good, but felt that the sharing platters were a little small. The red onion chutney was particularly good. The main course was not as good. The pastry on the Chicken pies needed a sledge hammer to get in to them. The ham bon bon had a bone in it, and the triple cooked chips were very dry and cold when they arrived. Which brings me on the service. Two things really brought the service down. The first was when the server wiped the knife and forks in her hand against my wife, and other was when I complained about the bone in the Ham Bon Bon I was told that the message would be passed back to the kitchen. However, no one came over to go over the issue. All in all a mediocre experience. The vegan meals were very good.

Absolutely fantastic little pub. Visited with the motorcycle group and the buffet laid on was really wonderful. The landlord was clearly passionate about local suppliers. All the staff and locals were really friendly. Thank you so much for hosting us.

Attended an evening here with the stevenage and District motorcycle club. And was so impressed, service was awesome, and the buffet they laid on for us, is the best I have ever seen. Fabulous.
