Wonderful Sunday lunch at the black horse. Excellent gluten free options. Also loved the desserts. Keen to come back during the week for an evening meal. Booking is essential.

Stayed and ate here for Sunday Dinner. Food and service were excellent. My only criticism is a general one of the south (being a northerner) is the hand pulled ale is always flat as they remove the sparklers off the pumps.

I agree with a previous review that for whatever reason food quality has really gone downhill. Service, staff & interior all still great. Food average at best.

I was taken here for an evening meal by some friends.
What a great experience with some exceptional service and fabulous food. The staff could not have been more attentive and friendly.
We enjoyed three course, every one was perfect.
Highly recommended.

The Black Horse hosted my daughter?s 30th birthday celebration. The food was excellent and the service was exemplary! They made an effort to welcome the guests, treat everyone including my daughter with care and attention. They ensured that everyone was treated well and provided with drinks and food. The proprietor and staff went the extra mile to make the evening special, thank you so much, Darren and staff for a truly wonderful evening! Thank you, the Holmes family.

As we only popped in for a drink, i can't speak for the food, but I have heard it's excellent. Beautiful country pub, with great kerb appeal. Glorious hanging baskets, with a garden to the side. Lovely inside too.

We have been going here for many years, however something has changed, the food has gone from excellent to very very poor, the prices have risen dramatically but the service is still good. Food quality very poor now which is a shame because it's a lovely venue with outside area, we take our dog there and it's a nice relaxed atmosphere just bad food quality

The food was expensive and not that nice they also charge us £36 service charge the service was very slow the mens toilets were out of order.

Just had a superb Sunday Lunch at The Black Horse Ireland. The staff were very friendly, professional and attentive, the food was absolutely delicious. We will certainly be returning. Thank you so much to you all for making our anniversary lunch special.

Visited a 2 occasions in the past 6 months. Each time, service and food have been exemplary. The staff really make you feel important and the restaurant is beautiful, clean and has a lovely atmosphere - each time we?ve been it has been full of happy diners, yet the service never suffers.
On both occasions, we had food from the Sunday Lunch menu - excellent quality, portion size and value.

What a superb restaurant, fabulous decor throughout and so clean
The service was outstanding
From the moment me and my wife arrived we were greeted my Matthew, who was dressed immaculately, took us to our seats. Asked what we would like drink-wise . Then came along Darren who was suited and booted and explained our menu options to us and even explained the stuff we didn?t know( think it was a French dish )
The food came out very quickly and piping hot, we were asked if we would like anything else for the table before they let us enjoy our meal. We had a beef roast and a chicken roast and they were the best roasts we have ever had ( apart from my wife?s. I had to say that)
When paying for our bill there was no service charge on it even though they went above and beyond with the service. William as so lovely too when I asked him how long the restaurant had been there for as we didn?t know about it, wished we had known sooner. All the staff were fantastic and the food amazing
A must go to. It?s our new favourite and my wife is really fussy too

We had a lovely sunday dinner. The only thing we did not like was the gravy was on the plate and it would be better to have gravy on the side so you can choose if you want it or not.

Lived here all my life. Setting is fab service is good however rushed food was no better than any other pub in fact it was pretty poor. Be aware of gratuity. Is it worth the money? No
