Food in the cafe is a bit on the expensive side , staff very attentive and friendly. Need Gluten free options or separate menu.

Lovely garden centre with a great range of products, but it?s let down by the restaurant. The food is way over priced for what you receive. Three of us had the full frostie (full english breakfast) and the fried eggs (white and yolk) were completely raw, which completely put me off eating. They also give you both brown AND white bread, so half ended up going to waste from all three of our plates. They should really let you pick which you?d like and give half the amount.. I am assuming they give you all that bread just to make it look like there?s a lot for what we paid.

Very well stocked garden centre, a diversity of plants from spring primroses to alpines, roses to garden veg plants, all ready to plant. A fresh fruit and veg section, bakery products, bread and cake too. A lovely landscaped cafe with secluded tables set beside a mature large pond. Sit inside or out. Well worth a visit.

My friend and I have visited the restaurant twice in the last few weeks and unfortunately have been left extremely disappointed on both occasions for the same reason. The restaurant operates using table service. Which would be fine, except that on both occasions, there was a distinct lack of service - we had to ask somebody to come over and take our order, ask somebody to bring the drinks we ordered, ask someone to take our plates away, ask someone to bring us a menu back so we could order cakes, and finally go over ourselves to the till to pay. All of this added an inordinate amount of time to our experience. There was no shortage of staff - most seemed to be stood around the till most of the time, which made it even more frustrating that we had to keep asking for very basic service. If we could just go up to a till ourselves and order our own food and cake like at most other garden centres we could have saved ourselves at least an hour of our time.As well as this, after ordering our cakes, we were then told after waiting for many minutes that they didn't have the cake my friend had ordered in stock. Again, if we could have just gone to the counter and ordered the cake ourselves, that problem would never have happened, but instead we wasted yet more time waiting for a cake that they never had. My friend ordered something else instead but we were then charged for the (more expensive) slice of cake still. When my friend queried this after we were handed our receipt, the waitress said to us "well it's no good telling me this now". She did eventually refund my friend but again, we found this rude and unhelpful.Unfortunately this is the second occasion we've been left really disappointed so we won't be returning - a shame because the food is very nice, and the garden centre itself is lovely. I hope this feedback prompts you to consider reviewing your current table service model to something more efficient, and improving restaurant customer service skills.

Vast improvement on the layout inside the garden centre. Didn't go into the restaurant, but for me don't like the extended eating area near the toilets, a bit canteen'ish, much sooner be near the lake, inside or out. Worth a vist.

I went here in December for Christmas dinner with 3 people. Being December I assumed it would be easy for them to cook a basic Christmas meal.We had to wait over 45 minutes for the worst tasting and looking Christmas dinner I've ever had. Plate was basically 90% red cabbage. We were given no updates about the food even though we sat in a central table and had probably 10-15 different restaurant staff walk past us constantly. Staff were pretty rude overall.Spent about £60+overall for this terrible experience. We should of walked out instead of waiting. The "British Garden Centre" franchise stores are a million times better than "Frosts"... better customer service and half the price. I got a Christmas meal there in less than 5 minutes to the table. Go there instead if you're in Hertfordshire, avoid Frosts Garden Centre!
