“I visited The Works store in The Mall (Arndale Centre), Luton, on the afternoon of 17th June 2025, looking for a wipeable colouring book I had seen online for my toddler. While browsing, I approached a member of staff named Tony, who was setting up a display.

Tony immediately paused what she was doing and gave me her full attention. I explained what I was looking for, and although the exact item wasn’t in stock, she went above and beyond to find me a similar product. After I mentioned that I was travelling with my toddler and needed something engaging for the journey, she kindly directed me to the travel pack section. She showed me the contents of the travel backpacks and also suggested other items that might be helpful.

Her service was exceptional — so much so that I left the store with more than I originally planned, and I was genuinely pleased with my purchases. Tony’s warmth, attentiveness, and product knowledge made my visit a really positive experience. It’s rare to find such dedicated staff these days, and it’s people like Tony who make you want to return to stores like this.

“They have lot of different house hold stuff and lot of varieties for kitchen stuff and there staff is so friendly they are going with lot of sales on bedding also mainly students discount that helps a lot and the uncle over the shop is very friendly and nice person”

“A wide variety of items available at good prices. A lot of the time, staff are stocking shelves and this limits access to the products and it gets difficult moving around the store. Customer service is ok. I've noticed that a lot of items have a different price on shelf and a different one at the till - so work needs to be done to synchronise this.”

“My partner and I often use both of the Mall Poundlands. Great service and value for money on a variety of goods. My partner came over very unwell in the store some month's ago and was assisted by Maggie, who was exceptional as she took time to get her seated, making sure she had water and stayed by her side until until she was well enough to leave the store and checking regularly to see how she was feeling. Maggie needs to personally be commended by The Store Manager and The Head Office for her very high level of work expertise as she is so very helpful when we have visited the store and on the partcular occasion as mentioned in this review. Keep up the hard work Maggie as you certainly add value personally to the Store Team with your outstanding work ethic. Both Mary and I give you a 1010 and a 5 star review and we hope this review will be personally passed onto although Mary has personally praised you as you certainly deserve it with your willingness to helpcustomers. “All was good and they have some good bargains on garden and cleaning products..also their houseware is good..I did have a problem at the checkout as my transaction went through twice and when I called the store the manager wasn't in and was asked to return on the following Tuesday when she would be in... which I did...when I returned to the store on the Tuesday it turns out she wasn't in after all....after a lot of umming and eerring, the chap finally gave me my refund which took nearly an hour!!!...”
