Great doctors . Very helpful
January 2024 by Alison Pontin
Sadly only a 2 star review due to the extremely rude, abrupt patronising receptionist yesterday morning (2nd of January). Can't fault the surgery apart from this receptionist who quite frankly displayed an appalling attitude and made me feel as though I was an idiot.

Every doctor is brilliant. They also have a message service which is super helpful. Great for nervous patients.

Update Oct 23. In the last year this practice has gone from bad to worse. With a 2 week old baby we have struggled to get an appointment for a terrible skin complaint she has apart from "they can see you in a week". After filling in forms to speed things up it went slower and trying to ring in an afternoon was impossible because they deliberately switch off the phones to a "sorry, we are super busy" voice mail. A truly atrocious service from our NHS. This is how our money is being spent and we should be livid about it.We have struggled for over 2 years to get reliable and timely service from this practice. Repeat prescriptions work fine, but only because it is online and virtually no touch for them. Need to visit a GP? No appointments. Need a phone call from a GP? 5 week wait. Have an allotted time with a GP for a call? Really just means anytime that day. GP does not call? Get a text to say they had and a try and rebook through their system, see 5 week wait. From my old doctors in the North East, who you could ring and get seen the same day and a proper friendly patient focused practice, this service has been a shocking look into the realities of a Southern based surgery and how they treat their customers. We give up, but what is the answer? Corona has been taxing for us all, but two years in it's not a reason anymore, its a poor and lazy excuse.

There is one LEIGHTON BUZZARD GP and ex-CCG Governing body member who made a se??ual assault on me - And it's still being dealt with by police. I'm a Psychology Dr, I know he's a narcissist, this is what they do. I know I wasn't the first and I know I'm not the last. Christopher Longstaff who claims to be a doctor is like a Jimmy Saville thing again trying to be kept the dark. This GP has purposely worked his way through NHS to where he wants to be - and thats in complete control, and if you don't do what he says he will do a subtle revenge eventhough what he said to do was completely unethical, - I already have 52 Descriminations against him and he particularly discriminates on attacks against AGORAPHOBIA and OCD, and his main ambition of his time in the NHS is working with with old and vulnerable people, those who unable to respond, to weak, are not with it mentally or by drugs - and he will take his chance inappropriately touching women's private parts any possible chance he can get, usually when the patient is asleep. If you come across this/please phone the police, MK or Beds, the more reports about him is the only way to stop him!!Christopher Longstaff also teaches, it means he simply teaches what the curriculum is which is already set out, he very quickly passed the examiner exam to mark trainees coursework on his course and if anybody does something that he disagrees with, which could be as unprofessional as opposite football teams, he will mark that person down so they fail. Christopher Longstaff is absolutely awful.

I walked down to the surgery as I was having chest issues. Despite not having an appointment, I was delighted to be seen.. Fantastic service and staff.

I would like to say thank you to Andy, the receptionist and Dr Grama. Andy is lovely and patiently listens to my problem and grants me the emergency appointment. Yes, grant me, not quite remember how I can get an appointment to see a doctor, the females receptionist will never got you anything and seems very busy, they?ll still get you an appointment but normally three to four weeks after! Annoyingly that?s the soonest no matter you told them need an emergency, same day etc. Dr Grama finally prescribed me a painkillers which I can just woke up 2 times instead of three or four in almost 4 years since. If you?ve struggled to sleep till the dawn comes, you?ll know what it feels. Thank you so much

I moved to the area over a year ago and have been very happy with the service I have received from Bassett Road surgery. The fact that I can contact the surgery via text, looking for guidance, has been extremely useful; resulting in good advice and follow-up care when required. Thank you to the whole team.

Not sure where you are supposed to go to get medical care in 2023 UK, but I wouldn't waste too much time trying with Bassett road. 4 week wait for bloods, 4 week wait for appointment for results. At the end Dr has no record of your test, will call back later. No call.[edit] Have got it sorted now but it was all a bit of a faff

Why Dr Henderson, can you not bring back calling the surgery & book future appointments, it's so frustrating trying to call at 8 am to make an appointment , NO CHANCE in Hell of getting anything , also there should be a walk in one doctor on call , public given a raffle ticket and a time to come back or sit & wait to see a doctor , abroad they do this and it works , this way you know that you will get to see a doctor but you know it might not be until later that day but you have a time slot , something needs to change at this surgery as it's not friendly anymore , you can't make an appointment if you come in , you can't get through bin the phone I would like to hear your response and if you have a way forward

Definitely a good surgery. If you have a long term health condition and require a GP to communicate well with third parties, this surgery ticks that box. My medication reviews are completed annually with my hospital. Review dates of medications always reflected the dates provided, resulting in consistent supply of meds. Although at times medication could come up as requiring review and being unable to request them, they would always listen to and action any custom notes added to requests. Once they confirmed the medication was actually within the review date, it was always dispensed as needed. The only reason I have rated 4 stars is because I never had to try to get an appointment so I can?t comment on that side of things. This might all sound like bare minimum, keeping me alive and that, but the bar is low having come from Flitwick Surgery. I recommend this surgery to anyone who requires effective communcation and GPs with more than one brain cell between them. Thank you for providing a good service!

The worst surgery in the whole of Bedfordshire, the reception staff are rude, ignorant and try to play God with who can see a doctor and who cant, even though they have no medical experience what so ever.I would absolutely not recommend this surgery, the only reason it was given 1 star is because the system wouldn't accept anything less...
