Fascinating to think Gary Cooper was confirmed in 1911 in this Church whilst at school here.

Use my parish church regularly. Friendly welcome atmosphere. Interesting and fascinating history in this grade 1 listed building. Coffee and home made cakes served on Saturday mornings by welcoming volunteers, who will also explain the history and show people around if requested. Services are accompanied by a choir and singing enjoyed by the congregation. Coffee and chats after the family service, further enhancing the friendly vibe. The bell tower has one of the oldest bells in the county and boasts a competent and committed ringing team. Members compete nationally and locally.

All Saints' is a beautiful place. According to their posters, the church has a Grade I listing and I understand why that is; there is a lot of history here and it should be valued all the more now that Houghton is expanding so much so quickly. My first visit was while the church was a couple of years back and the church was open for prayer. I've been back many times since and for a couple of weddings.
