Having been a few times, I can say it's definitely hit and miss. It's always very clean and has a nice atmosphere- dogs are allowed which is a nice bonus. Half the time we have come, they have sold out of a lot of their items, so the menu is often limited. I usually order a jacket potato, and they started off great, but now I find that they're really dry. No or not enough butter, very little mayo in the tuna and the cheese is very dry as its the pre-grated cheese. Service is usually very long, even when it's quiet. It's definitely starting to fall onto the pricier side of cafes. Often the staff seem in a tizz and will leave customers waiting. Overall, has the potential to be great, but I definitely feel it's getting ahead of itself.

Judging by the sausage and bacon, I?m guessing the cook formerly worked in a crematorium?

we are from doncaster visiting relatives and always come to the watering can cafe for breakfast it is gorgeous, bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms, Tom's and crunchy hash brown all lovely but their sausages (gluten free) are brilliant, highly recommended, place is air condioned, separate area for dogs, very friendly staff, can wait to come again, till next time ?

Loved this place when it first opened. However, they?ve now decided that dogs are only allowed in a non air-conditioned area outside the main cafe. Such a shame to be segregated when the cafe is in a garden centre. The service is also painfully slow as there?s only one person serving. However, staff are lovely and food is great (I have a 5 star review before) but unfortunate that it?s not as dog friendly as before, and won?t be returning.

After my last lunchtime visit to the cafe which was disappointing I decided to try again and have breakfast, the lady who took my order was very nice, said hello and was cheerful, I ordered the watering can breakfast which I was looking forward to as I had not eaten since lunchtime the previous day. When it arrived the plate was greasy where the obliterated egg was which I had ordered 'covered' it was flattened and broken and not at all nice to look at, the bacon was also greasy and so overcooked. It looked like it had been sitting for some time and was tough to cut. Will I try a third visit ?

Really nice place. Lovely decor, staff were friendly, breakfast was lovely & hot. The chocolate cake though was the real highlight - truly scrumptious! Really welcoming family atmosphere.

Very pleasant, doing what they can to adjust to current problems, menu should suit most tastes, with generous portions at reasonable prices.
