Stayed in here for work a few times due to gaffer , honestly no go . My room was freezing lit the heater on didn?t work , stayed a full week didn?t once have my stuff changed now I one to moan or do this but the biggest thing is there?s a dress code in the bar. Bloke told me I canrt order a 2 drinks to take to my room while wearing a 2004 arsenal shirt and a pair of tie coloured shorts then refused to take my 20 pound note because he wanted card . Least face it working lads stay there because of the price and your come gordan Ramsey style approach will sink this place and tbh I heard z person talk to his staff like dogs

Horrible grubby room. No mattress cover and there was a single bottom sheet on a double bed. Mattress was exposed and was very thin like the walls. We could hear snoring and talking during the night. Only one mug provided for 2 people. No spoons just wooden stirers!!

Grim. Felt like going to a prison cell. Noisy, uncomfortable, shocking value, amazing to think that a "hotel" still exits like this. My colleague booked into a room and the bed unmade, filthy, thought that someone might still be in the bathroom.

Ok for a night or two, but the hotel is a bit tired.
Breakfast provision is poor with only fixed menu and no usual buffet.
Gluten free provision poor and had to be requested, so little choice for us coeliacs.

Room carpets were marked and looked dirty, bed base had seen better days and was worn were hoover had been rubbed against it over many years, bathroom toilet brush was in a disgusting state, Sunday night and bar had closed at 830 in the evening not what u want when on holiday. Day of arrival was told no meals available on the afternoon and would have to wait till the evening. Real shame this hotel is really run down. Kettle available in room but for some strange reason on my second day the maid had removed the cups from the room. Only good thing was the breakfast, which didn?t make up for the general state of the corridors and room.

Room needed a lot of attention. Tired and run down. Needs a lot of touch ups. Drains on floor. Found a hair in my cup. Wouldn?t stay again

I previously stayed here 10 years ago. I?m pleased to say that the hotel has kept its charm and character. It is a good, no nonsense hotel and not a soulless corporate copycat. All of the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. I will always give an honest review, therefore here are my criticisms and observations. The room was clean and recently decorated, however the en-suite bathroom did come across as being tired, the mattress was a little hard the the pillows quite thin. Breakfast, the waitress was very polite and friendly and we were served coffee very quickly and given a menu, the menu is very good, but the service was quite slow, the coffee went cold and there was no sign of the waitress coming to take our order, the table next to ours was not cleared. I waited for 15 minutes and was running out of time before I needed to leave so I decided to leave, I told the manager at reception that I was not happy and he persuaded me to stay promising a speedy breakfast. Once seated at the same table he cleared the table next to mine, and took the order. I did ask for my egg to be well done, but when it arrived it was undercooked, he quickly rectified this and the breakfast was very good.
In summary, the hotel is good, but not perfect, the staff are very friendly and helpful, they dealt with me and my complaint very well and quickly. I would return.
I hope that this review is helpful and hope that the hotel view it and my criticisms as constructive.
Rooms: Clean, newly decorated but bathroom looking tired.
Walkability: A very short walk to to local restaurants and pubs

Stayed here for 2 nights for a funeral. Booked Bar, bed and breakfast which at the time was a good deal, breakfast included and a bottle of presecco in the room.
No presecco, bed uncomfortable thought it might collapse during the night. Old hand-wash dispensers not removed looked awful, massive sink which made it awkward on the loo, shower head wouldn't stay up and not easy to get the temperature right.
Breakfast was ok but not worth the £14 each for a cooked breakfast it was advertised as, there was no cereal, 1 slice of toast andc tea or coffee out of a flask.
I asked about my presecco the next morning, i ordered 1 for each night we stayed and was told I could have it in the bar. Got back from the funeral of which the tea was also at the Stratton house got my first bottle but was refused my second and wanted to charge my £30 for another bottle. I did get it eventually. My son stayed on the night of the funeral on the same deal, I had to ask for his bottle the next morning.
The funeral itself I believe the family will be putting in a complaint themselves, not set up as asked or on time the food was nice.
When I look now the deal has changed to breakfast at £12.50 each and the presecco at £30, why would anyone pay an extra £20/night to save £5 just on breakfast when there are plenty of cafes and a Wetherspoons a short walk away.
When I visit next time I will not be staying here.
On the plus side the girl on the bar and lad on breakfast were nice and helpful

CHECK YOUR BOOKING WITH THE HOTEL BEFORE YOU STAY!!!
We booked a room via the hotel website and received a confirmation email with a booking reference. On the evening of our planned stay, we went to check in, to be told that there wasn?t a booking in our name and were asked if we had booked the correct hotel, or via a third party booking site. On showing our confirmation email from the hotel, the member of staff on reception told us the hotel was fully booked and that he?d try calling another hotel for us. When he couldn?t get through, he asked us to wait and promptly checked in other guests whilst we sat waiting! What he should have done was carry on dealing with us first!
Eventually after 15 minutes or so he had checked in the other guests and tried another hotel. They were also fully booked and we were advised to try and find a hotel somewhere local ourselves! Not knowing the area too well and trying our luck a Saturday evening to find another hotel, we ended up driving another
1 1/2 hours home, after an already long day.
After reading reviews on Trip Adviser, I?m now glad we didn?t get to stay.
Terrible service by the staff on reception and no real apology for an error with their own booking system.

Booked 2 nights while visiting the Shuttleworth Collection because of the proximity, but the stay added so much more value than expected. The staff were wonderfully lovely - I regretfully did not get any names, but we had such pleasant interactions with everyone, especially the man we spoke to on check-in, and the woman who served breakfast Saturday morning; they were so incredibly warm and welcoming. The room was perfectly clean and comfortable, and surprisingly quiet despite being right in the town centre. The breakfast was lovely, cooked perfectly and service was perfect throughout our stay.We would happily return again.

Pre-booked room via a booking agency, meant sadly I got a single bed small room, in the lower numbered rooms. The service here was excellent, and the food was even better. Front of house was very pleasant. I really enjoyed the English breakfast, Shasuka, plus the Pancakes, bacon and Ice cream was a real treat for breakfast too.

I stayed for three nights at this hotel. The location of it was ideal as it's close to the Biggleswade train and bus stations, the staff were friendly and the restaurant part of the hotel seemed ok; however, the room itself was not great. The bathroom needed a deep clean as there was limescale in the sink and mould in the bath. The bathroom door handle was also falling off. In the bedroom the mattress was deeply uncomfortable with just a sheet to cover it (no mattress protector), the pillows were lumpy, the kettle was filled with limescale and the cups were dirty. For the price of the stay I would not recommend it.
