Excellent midweek lunch choosing from the set menu. Really tasty food and so happy to see another pub selling "proper" pies. I.E. pastry all round. Just need to pay attention to the toilets (my pet subject).I gave 4 stars for atmosphere because the conversatory was a bit chilly compared to the main areas of the pub.

Went to the park for a family birthday meal, the Sunday lunch was really good but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Seems like there are a lot of untrained staff who don't know what is available on the menu, ourselves and the table next to us placed orders for items and then another member of the serving team came back with no apology to advise that they were not available and this was for both food and drinks! It didn't seem to matter to the servers that they were not offering good customer service. The time we waited for both our drinks orders was excruciating and we chased one of the orders up twice, there was also a wine glass with lipstick on it which my daughter pointed out, the waitress took it away to get a replacement and stopped on the way to do something on the till and talk to her colleague my daughter got up to sort out the issue herself and that got the replacement glass quicker than waiting for the staff. The front of house are letting down the kitchen who's plates are full of well cooked food but we won't be rushing back to enjoy it as it deserves the complete package to enjoy it!

Lovely food but unfortunately each course took close to an hour to be served, we then had to chase for the bill and to pay. Not the first time the service has been poor.
